Like most of you, I have been defending Sarah Palin against baseless accusations since the shootings a week ago in Tucson. I have struggled to come to grips with how this guy could reach the point that he would commit such a horrific act, and how people that I considered to be friends could defend those who were so quick to attribute blame to Sarah for what the guy did.
In the course of offering up a defense on my Facebook page, where I have almost 700 friends, I made this posting on Wednesday evening:
If you want to see something amazing, check out this video. These are extremely liberal war protesters from the group 9/11 Truth who are very upset with Gabby Giffords over her support for the war and her refusal to support the impeachment of George W. Bush. They call her a war criminal and say that she's hiding the "lies" about 9/11/2001. Pay particular attention to the guy at around 1:45 and what he says. He's an obvious pothead wacko - the same sort of guy that Jared Loughner appears to be, although Loughner clearly has less social skills than this guy, if that is possible. Now, I'm not accusing the 9/11 Truth movement of anything. I don't think that the people in this group had anything to do with the shooting on Saturday, nor do I think that they should be prevented from accusing Giffords of being a war criminal who is sending young men to be shot in the head without justification. I'm just offering a possible alternate explanation for what happened. What if that idea that Giffords is sending young men to be shot in the head clicked with Loughner in a way that mixed with his already existing anger towards Giffords - and he decided that he was going to pay her back in kind? Do I have any evidence that that is what happened? No. Just this video, which is WAY more than any Democrat has linking Sarah Palin to this.
9/11 Truthers Protest Giffords Event
Now, this morning, I had a chance to watch the video that was posted with Loughner walking around the Pima College campus. After watching that video, I made the following observation.
Now, check out the video at this website, which is a video made by Loughner in his own words as he walks around the Pima Community College campus. Notice that he talks about how we are engaged in two wars, and that "the war we are in right now is currently illegal under the Constitution."
Loughner Tours the Pima College Campus
So, now we have a video showing that among all the weird thoughts rattling around in this guy's head, at least one of them was directly related to the idea that our involvement in a war is illegal under the Constitution, which is the same thing that the protestors in the other video believe. So, now we have a direct link between their ideas and his ramblings. These people think she is a war criminal and think she is responsible for getting young men "shot in the head" by sending them over there to fight, and then a young man with an unstable mind who shares their views and happens to have a pre-existing grudge against Giffords decides to shoot her in the head. I think this is a plausible scenario and probably pretty close to the truth.
New Currency: Could this be what Jared Loughner was rambling about?
I don’t care at all what he thinks.
Just hang him and then get on to the next killer.
It’s not that I care what he thinks. I care that what he thinks appears to have come from leftist ideas, and had nothing to do with crosshairs maps or any of the other things that it’s been blamed on.
If it were me, I would have been more afraid of that crowd than I would have of Sarah Palin's "map", and yet the MSM made a big point of saying that Giffords had expressed concerns about it prior to the shooting.
I see two almost unrelated issues here, just like the nearly unrelated issues of crime and criminals. On the crime and criminals front, I say lock criminals up for many, many years to keep decent people safe, then figure out what can be done within the appropriate bounds of government action or charitable intervention in the community to fix social problems and reduce the crime rate even more when the easily influenced young are not around the career predators. On the Loughner’s motive issue, I don’t particularly care where he falls on the evil-insane spectrum, although he scores high points in both directions. Separate from locking him up forever or executing him, we need to look at the flaws in our mental health system and in the laws that keep society from stopping people like this until they completely flip out.
Suppose you discover the killer was somehow inspired by the Pope’s last sermon? Would that implicate the Pope in the murder?
I agree with Sarah Palin: it is Loughner’s crime alone.
In my opinion the sooner he is converted to worm food the better.
We will never know exactly what was going on in his mind......even if he tells us his “truth” of what he thinks he was thinking on that day. If you want to speculate, I thought the sex crime post was interesting. If you put it all together, I think you might be close.

Here is the post that I was referring to about it being a sexual act against Giffords and Palin.
What is you FB name?
PM it to me if you want another FB friend.
I have struggled to come to grips with...how people that I considered to be friends could defend those who were so quick to attribute blame to Sarah for what the guy did.
PDS.
One of the victims who was shot, and a crazy leftist weirdo, Eric Fuller - who can be called a witness - pointed the finger at Palin, Beck and Sharron Angle.
SO now we have Sheriff Buttlick and an eye witness... sounds like they have arrested the wrong man. They need to round up the Cross Hare Gang!
//sarcasm
You mean all those mad libs who were angry that she voted against Pelosi for Speaker and stayed to read the Constitution??
Mentally ill people don’t need a motive. Their thought processes are an example of chaotic theory in action.
That’s why I used quotations around the word “motive” in the title.
We take to long trying to convict a guy like this. Two three weeks tops. Try, convict, execute within a month or two. We know he did it they captured him on the spot. Bye good riddance!
Motive doesn’t really matter.
He murdered people and he deserves a speedy and fair trial before he is quickly executed.
But if there is any external force that influenced him it is this:
He was disappointed that Congresswoman Gifford wasn’t far enough to the ultra-left to meet his expectations.
And where would he and others get those expectations?
From everyday democrat speeches and campaign statements.
Democrats consistently (and intentionally) over-promise and incite the radical left with red meat about their utopian leftist agenda. When they cannot always deliver 100%, the crazies go even crazier.
Protestations and declarations by the media and political pundits that he was not political and the attempted murder of Congresswoman Gifford was not a political act are nonsense.
He specifically attacked a political figure. He didn’t attack a college classmate, a reporter, a sports figure, a cop, a truck driver or other non-political figure.
Dont be swayed....this is definatley relevant to his motives...
Been saying so since I found out he was a truther...
So far this is the 4th shooting tied to a 9/11 truther that I can find...
And you are free to look them up yourself...
Loughner...9/11 truther and bush hater
John Patrick Bedell...9/11 truther and Bush hater
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/2464619/posts
Von Brunn....... 9/11 truther and bush hater
Clay Duke an AntiWar 9/11 Truther
http://www.fontcraft.com/liberty/?p=30698
And I’m quite sure there are more....but the media cant handle reporting it widely becuase this insanity lies within the left primarily...
Very clear and distinct pattern, and patterns don't lie.
You might have just found the answer to how the dems knew to orchestrate the news stories on the need for more gun control, control of hate radio/hate speech, and the need for net neutrality BEFORE the shooting, especially now that these three issues are front and center after the shooting.
