Build a 'Field of Dreams' for a DUI-killed kindergartner.

Dear FRiends,

I have never asked for any help from the FReeper community so I am going to appeal to you to help build a 'Field of Dreams' in memory of a young boy.

www.refresheverything.com/treytonkilar

Treyton was a 6 year old boy, a family friend of a colleague of mine at Elkhorn (WI) Middle School, who was killed by a drunk driver.

His project is battling for #2 the voting, in the $250K neighborhoods category. Curious to what he is battling?

How about a nationwide movement for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered youth.

That's correct, a group out of New York is trying to get the $250,000 grant to put "safe kits" in schools for LGBT students who may be victims of bullying.

I am opposed to bullying in our schools, but do not believe one group needs special protection over another.

Number #1 is a disease I have never heard of and would not wish to contract. However, please take two minutes today and sign up and vote for Treyton's idea. You will not receive emails from Pepsi if you opt out, this is confirmed, I have been voting for two weeks. You can vote one time a day until Jan. 30th when the contest ends.

You may also text if you prefer, text the number 105500 to 73774. Thank you and God bless you for your time.

Sorry, not going to give the Obama-loving Pepsico the hits. If there is another sponsor, I’ll help through them.

The LGBT crowd is all over that site, goto rankings and they have 4 or 5 in the top 5. I guess with all that caffine they can stay up voting all night.

Voted, my boy is only an year older than Treyton, so I can imagine how terrible his loss is for the family, it would be nice to know that he will be remembered and that something positive came from this tragedy.

Even though its a Pepsi Co initiative, I look at it as taking away money from the enemy to put towards a good family oriented goal.

Will keep voting as much as I can.

here is another -
http://www.refresheverything.com/cdhfamilies

you can vote 10 times per day.
Several of them are ‘lets train young activists to be leftwing agitators’, especially LGBT ones. LGBT activists are on track to get $200k.

A vote for a playground or to help give lifesaving help to infants is far far better.

Bump!

I did try to vote but up popped a message that seems to be related to a new Facebook app that hands out lots of info to third parties - the last thing I read (today) is that they’d had second thoughts and were yanking the system until further notice ... I’ll try later ... Sorry.

For those interested the FB “Request For Permission” says they’ll happily pass along your name, profile picture, gender, “networks”, UserID, list of friends, “AND ANY OTHER INFORMATION I’VE SHARED WITH EVERYONE.” Woo! I wonder how they do that? ;-)

Sorry again, I declined.
