Shrinking ice and snow cover in the Arctic is increasingly reflecting less sunshine back into space and is contributing to global warming, scientists have warned.
The previously underestimated reduction in solar energy that the planet absorbs is 'driving stronger climate change' than previously thought.
Satellite data indicated that Arctic sea ice, glaciers, winter snow and Greenland's ice were bouncing less energy back to space from 1979 to 2008.

The previously underestimated reduction... Let me guess, these AGW fruitcakes of late are right on the mark however.

I'd think that the 75% of ocean at the equator would reflect more sunlight than the arctic ice that gets its sunshine at such an oblique angle, if at all during the winter months.

That must be the dumbest concaclusion from the scientwists!!!
First, in the winter, there is hardly any sunshine hiting arctic snow!!! Polar night!
Now most of US is covered with snow, which prevents sbsorbtion of Suns energy and warming of ground, making it coooold, as we are seeing and experiencing.
Sunspots are lowest now, atmosphere shrinks, more violent weather.
Strip the idiots of their degrees and fire them, let them dig coal in the mines.

Is the left still beating the global warming dead horse? Most people have realized by now that it is a scam that made Algore and lots of other leftists rich, but has no basis in scientific fact.

Hmmm....last week 49 states had snow on the ground in the US. I’ve heard tell that there’s a wee bit of snow in Europe too. Here in Kansas, its just sat here for over a week, not even thinking about melting. I’m sure much of the midwest, upper midwest, and northeast are the same. Millions of acres of snow to reflect the heat. Happens every year.

The only problem is that we would have to send at least one conservative with them. Alone a bunch of liberals would not only not find the Northwest Passage, they wouldn’t get far enough away to get into real trouble. They would just wade back.
