Sarah Palin crushed Oprah Winfrey last night when the two went head to head at 9 p.m. EST on the Fox News Channel and CNN.
Palin appeared on Fox's Hannity to give her first interview in the wake of media attacks on her over the Arizona massacre while Winfrey was the prize guest on the debut of Piers Morgan Tonight, CNN's successor to the Larry King Show.
The New York Times, Washington Post, Huffington Post, New York Magazine and Broadcasting & Cable each gave Piers Morgan the headlines for their articles about the ratings battle, even though his show placed a decisive second. Palin's triumph is mentioned but played down.
The numbers according to Broadcasting & Cable:
Hannity: 2.4 million, 600,000 in 25-54demo.
Morgan: 2.1 million, 521,000 in 25-54 demo.
Rachel Maddow on MSNBC: 1.1 million, 342,000 in 25-54 demo.
Palin's audience was nearly 15 percent larger than those who tuned in to watch Oprah.
Nobody watches CNN anymore.

Oprah never had much of a political career even if she thought she was a king maker in her own mind.
2.1 Million is a darned good showing for a new show. Considering most of America doesn’t have a clue who Piers Morgan even is.
Yeah, she’s the one that also sat in Rev Wright’s church for a whole bunch of years and didn’t hear any racist stuff coming out of his mouth

Considering that everyone knows who Oprah is and CNN was promoting the heck out this, not so great.
I think they do. A lot of America watches Americas Got Talent and Celebrity Apprentice. The first show alone would get him recognition.

Last night they did. 2.1 million is 8 TIMES Larry King's average nightly audience for 2010.

Morgan was fired from the Mirror on 14 May 2004 after authorising the newspaper's publication of photographs allegedly showing Iraqi prisoners being abused by British Army soldiers from the Queen's Lancashire Regiment. Within days the photographs were shown to be crude fakes. Under the headline "SORRY.. WE WERE HOAXED", the Mirror responded that it had fallen victim to a "calculated and malicious hoax" and apologised for the publication of the photographs.
Had to be Oprah then. i figured there isn’t much new to learn about her. Same old Oprah. *yawn*
