Wisconsin to host Obama (Manitowoc groud zero for Wisconsin 'alternative' energy scam)

President Obama will go to Manitowoc, Wis., on Jan. 26, the White House announced.

“More details will be released as they become available,” the White House promised in a statement.

The city's mayor, Justin Nickels, told the local Herald Times Reporter that Obama "is coming to talk about the economy and businesses in Manitowoc that are true leaders in economic development."

The visit by Barry will have some interesting optics. The 'Mayor' of Manty is 24 years old. The businesses that Barry and the boy mayor will probably be visiting are involved in alternative energy or saving energy via efficient lighting.

If you look at the performance of Broadwind Energy, which makes windmill towers and gear boxes (BWEN, formerly Tower Tech) and Orion which makes energy efficient lighting (OESX)you will see neither company is profitable, both are bleeding cash, and without gov't grants and tax incentives for their customers, neither would be able to survive in a free market.

For Obama to go to Manty and highlight these companies would be a perfect illustration of how out of touch gov't is with how to create jobs.

It is possible that Barry will actually head over to Manitowoc Company which makes huge cranes, but I am not sure he wants to be seen in front of construction cranes which actually are used to build things.

Wouldn’t it be great if one of the cities/regions/industries that’s been gutted by his Zero-ness told him to “Pi$$ off”?

Oh well . . . I can dream.

Don't know much about alternative energy other than these windtower farms are a blight on our landscape and are growing like a cancerous skin growth.

They are, however, monuments to the eco warriors' won battles.

The city of Manitowoc has a $1 million budget shortfall that will probably result in layoffs.....fitting for Obama’s visit.

Wisconsin is having a republican governor, house & senate. It looks like, it is a perfect set up for a Republican presidential candidate to win & I am sure that sun of a gun manager of Obama, David Axelrod would have figured that out.

I've been thinking about my options when the new mercury containing light bulbs that Congress is shoving down our throats start to fail. I think sending the dead but dangerous bulbs back to our Congressional reps would be a good idea.

Wisconsin to host Obama..translation= Wisconsin gives Dumbo cover and allows him to play savior for his adoring masses for an hour.

...the skeptical believe his handlers need a place to meet (AF One) to discuss the agenda, since the White Hut is occasionally watched for “visitors, logged in” as promised.

We owned two Manitowoc 4600 draglines back in my coal mining days. They were the best of the 7-8 yard mobile machines.

Of course NO ONE will show up to protest B.O.

I do recall EVERY TIME George W. Bush went somewhere, the press made CERTAIN to find protestors...but that doesn’t happen with the Dear Reader B.O.

The sad truth about wind farms;

1) wind energy isn’t free - it raises electric rates.

2) wind energy requires 100% backup.

3) The governments we elect are raising our electric rates through mandated green energy.

4) This waste is another example of spraying money outside the economic engine then wondering why it doesn’t produce more power.

There is a stunning amount of people that can’t rationally comprehend this - or understand anything else that means using reason and logic.

Manitowoc is also home to the only coal burning ship in the northern hemisphere - one that dumps all of its coal ash directly into the waters of Lake Michigan.

Funny thing is when demand is highest on the HOTTEST and COLDEST days, the wind blows least. In December in Scotland, they had to import French nuclear generated electricity because their windmills were all frozen up and generating a whole 3% of stated capacity.
