Abortion clinic doctor charged with killing 7 infants after birth

PHILADELPHIA — A doctor whose abortion clinic was described as a filthy, foul-smelling “house of horrors” that was overlooked by regulators for years was charged Wednesday with murder, accused of delivering seven babies alive and then using scissors to kill them.

Dr. Kermit Gosnell was also charged with murder in the death of a woman who suffered an overdose of painkillers while awaiting an abortion.

In a nearly 300-page grand jury report filled with ghastly, stomach-turning detail, prosecutors said Pennsylvania regulators ignored complaints of barbaric conditions at Gosnell’s clinic, which catered to poor, immigrant and minority women in the city’s impoverished West Philadelphia section.

Prosecutors called the case a “complete regulatory collapse.”

Maybe Notre Dame can give this doctor a medal and have Obama back to give him another medal.

Why are the “mothers” also not charged with those murders?

This just exposes the dichotomy & hypocrisy of the pro abortion line because killing the infant while it is inside is no different to killing the infant on the outside yet people will be more shocked over the latter than the former.

Good thing he didn’t kill someone’s pet. PETA and like-minded organizations would be screaming “crucify him!”

State regulators ignored complaints about Gosnell and the 46 lawsuits filed against him, and made just five annual inspections, most satisfactory, since the clinic opened in 1979, authorities said. The inspections stopped completely in 1993 because of what prosecutors said was the pro-abortion rights attitude that set in after Democratic Gov. Robert Casey, an abortion foe, left office.

It's amazing that this is an AP story. Except for using the no-doubt-obligatory term "pro-abortion rights," instead of the more straightforward "pro-abortion," this anonymous reporter pulls no punches at all—amazingly unconcerned about the damage being done to the reputation of induced abortion itself—focused, apparently, on telling the unvarnished truth. Kudos!

On top of that, it's amazing that the New Haven Register, a firmly Lefty paper, is running the story.

The story says that the statute of limitations had precluded prosecution of the corrupt health department officials who ignored all the complaints about the abortionist. But I suspect prosecutors were leaned on by the permanent bureaucracy and pro-abortion state pols not to bring their cases to the grand jury.

Why would any pro-choiceabortion person be shocked by this and want the doctor prosecuted? Yet again we see the unintended consequences of liberalism which become intended when the jackasses realize what is happening but still don't do anything--because to do so would be to admit error. And babies get to pay for that face-saving exercise.

How vile. So when are Boxer, Sebelius etc going to come to his defense?

If they truly believe that they are right, then they should come to the doctor’s defense. Otherwise, they are just the hypocrites that we have always known them to be.

The women were the murderers,The Doctor was just a tool they used to kill their own late term children.

Is it any worse for this doctor to kill them with scissors than to suck out their little brains before they are out of the mother?

Is it any worse than leaving them in a hamper in the laundry room to die.

Didn’t Obama vote against the Child left alive bill?

Is this Doctor any worse than Tiller the Killer?

We believe that only a monster could kill a new born baby by stabbing it with a pair of scissors., but is that monster any worse than the monster who sucks the brains out of a child as it’s tiny head crowns from it’s mother vagina?
Is the mother any different for delivering her child to this monster who performs the act?

These people who perform late term abortions are not Doctors, they are murderers. They profane the title Doctor

Boxer said something like life does not begin until a child is taken home from the hospital. So she cant have any problem with what this guy did.

Fewer “physicians” are willing to perform abortions, so they have to look the other way when this sort of thing happens.

As far as the statute of limitations thing goes, couldn’t they at least be charged as an accessory in the death of the woman that OD’d?

Darn right. Makes no sense to me. And I can't believe all the complaints they ignored are all more than, say, 10 years old. If you compared the Health Dept's responsiveness to these complaints versus the other complaints they get, I have a feeling it would reveal a pattern. Considering the serious nature of the complaints, well, I don't know the rules for regulators, but "criminal negligence" comes to mind.

The article supports dismembering babies but only if they’re still in the womb. Would they consider a murder to be a lesser crime if the person was murdered in their house? Their logic is twisted.

Regulators in Philadelphia who ignored reports of this murder, assisted in the murders. They did it for the glory of protecting liberalism’s abortion ritual.

Their twisted logic is analogous to a sort of “out of sight - out of mind” rationalization.
