Less than two weeks before Rep. Mike Pence, R-Ind., is expected to make an announcement about his political future, conservative leaders are urging him to jump into the 2012 presidential race.
Within the last week, at least two draft Mike Pence groups have sprung up, including an effort spearheaded by former Rep. Jim Ryun, R-Kan., and former Reagan administration official Ralph Benko.
"Seize this moment, Mike," Ryun, along with conservative leaders L. Brent Bozell, Dick Armey and Morton Blackwell, wrote in a letter they sent to Pence on Thursday. "Now is the time for you, as one of this generation's leaders, to take your rightful place in the pantheon of American leadership, to cast aside personal considerations, and defend this God-blessed nation that has given us, and the world, so much."

That magnificent speech he gave on the proper role of the president makes him presidential timber. I pray that he make the prudent choice.
I always liked Pence. But I think we should be a little more circumspect about who we want to put out there till the summer. These conversations should be happening in the GOP clubs and among conservative groups. I know that a lot of RINOs will want to trot out Mitt Romney again-—he’s a has been in my book!
You are wise beyond your years.
Pence/Rubio
Congressman? No executive experience?
I like Mike. He has potential.
Unfortunately, he has even less executive experience than Sarah Palin, who has been a governor of a very large state even if it wasn’t for a full term.
I would much prefer to vote for a candidate for President who has been a governor (no, not Huckabee!). One with the limited experience of a Congressman or a Senator results in a President like Obama.
As someone who believes in the lessons of history, the problem with any Congressman being successful in a Presidential run is it’s only happened once before.
Is he for job exporting, government to government ‘free trade’ or what is his ‘job’s here’ plan?
No, I just want to leave the liberals in suspense for a bit. Because as soon as they get word that we’re for this or that one— they’ll start tearing that person apart. Give them less time to do that....(they’re gonnna do it anyway.) And besides, we’ll be more confident who we’ll support, because we’ve sorted it out among ourselves.
I’d love this President Mike rather than the “Mike” we have for mayor in NYC.....that shmegegge....a rich one at that...aka: Nanny Mike.

I second that.
We’ll wait and see who desperate RINO’s back. In the end, despite Romney bore, these RINOs may be forced to back a real conservative and will be looking to the one they can best manipulate. That will NOT be Sarah Palin. It wouldn’t be Pence would it?
We are up against “divide and conquer” from both sides.
No reference to Bloommy intended...just a return to normalcy as opposed to BAR-ROCK HU-SANE.
I can’t see backing anyone that has to be drafted to run! I want to back someone who has the ‘fire in the belly’ to want to run.
I know nothing about Mike Pence, so I'll hold my comments for now, but you are correct about the success of Congressman running. My preference in order, is Governor, Large Company CEO, Military high ranking officer, then Senator, followed by Congressman.
My choice.
Palin is quicker in getting her words out than any politician in the last 50 years, this is a sign she says what she believes! Finally, someone who tells the Truth!
Some people seems to think a woman cant run this country, thats another reason why she needs to be the first woman President!
She would do a lot to hurt the men having sex with men lifestyle, Normal would be back in again! Thats probably the biggest reason that the anti Palin freepers keeping spurring out all the same negatives Reagan lived with, yes, our token liberal democrat Trolls and with their sick lifestyle!
