Unions protest Wal-Mart by distributing flyer of devloper's home address with crosshairs
Washington Examiner ^ | 01/19/2011 | Mark Hemingway

As you'll recall, last May the SEIU seized on a brilliant new tactic for protests. It seems that if you disagree with someone's business decisions its now fair game to show up at the guy's house and scare the wits out of his children. (Or at least that's what happened last May when the SEIU staged a protest at a Bank of America executive's house.)

Well, now Wal-Mart has announced they are building stores in metro D.C. Wal-mart is non-union (that's why goods there are so gosh darn affordable), so obviously the local unions are not happy about this development. So what's their plan? The fine folks at Wal-Mart Free DC (charming little smiley face logo on the website there) want to go protest at the developer's house. They've announced this protest by widely distributing a flyer with the developer's home address on it with some crosshairs thrown in for good measure. This should end well ...

Leftists aren’t ever embarrassed when their blatant hypocrisy is exposed,

because the agenda trumps all decency.

“No it’s not. It’s because virtually all of their merchandise is made in China”

I shop Wal-mart for ammunitions.

Last I checked the boxes, Remington, Winchester and Federal still manufacture their ammunitions in the United States.

There are many reasons why Wal-Mart is usally pretty cheap. Keeping unions out and selling Chinese products (which others do too) are only two. Wal-mart is also doing well in China, where I doubt selling Chinese products is somehow an advantage. Frugality within the company and forcing it in the suppliers are a big one. Once they told a supplier to ditch an expensive Manhattan office if they wanted to land a Wal-Mart contract. Wal-Mart is also in general always trying to shave operating costs. To them, a saved penny here or second there means millions of dollars in the end.

Of course Wal-Mart has saved money in other ways, such as ripping off employees by juggling timecards. But I believe they settled for $$$.

"China Mart can pack up and leave. Hope the unions make their life miserable."

Walmart isn't a "they", it's an it. It doesn't have a life. Which people do you hope your union comrades descend upon?

My wife has a $450 a month prescription. One time we were not getting paid quick enough to get a full prescription. She went into Walmart and asked if she could purchase just a couple days worth till I was paid. She told the pharmacist the problem and he asked how long till I was paid. After telling him it would be 6 days he gave it to her for free and said see you in six days. this is after they were charging us over $150 less than the next cheapest price.

This medicine is required or my wife can not function. Screw any body that thinks bad of Walmart. They saved her life and asked nothing in return. These thugs make me sick!

Also not the gasoline they sell where they have gas stations.
Murphy Oil USA *

*Sold at Wal-Mart ... Murphy gas is from South Arkansas and fully USA owned and produced.
*Not only that but they give scholarships to all children in their town who finish high school and are legal US citizens.

They somehow or other have kept Wallies from building supercenters (the Walmarts with real grocery stores) within a radius of about 40 miles of D.C.

That didn't quite happen to us, but a rent-a-mob did show up at my place of employment to protest our business, and they did scare a number of my co-workers. They tried to take-over our lobby, but building security got them out of our lobby, and they moved on before the police showed up.

We now keep our doors locked at all times.

I forget the number, but it was huge...

The average person spends a LOT of money at Walmart during their lifetime.
They make SURE that you have no reason not to.

True, but “Made in China” doesn’t hurt either.

Aren't we lucky that Wal-Mart is the only retailer in the USA that sells goods "Made in China".

It would be nice if the Free Republic D.C. Chapter and/or the local Tea Party organization would show up at this developer’s house in a show of support against union thuggery and intimidation. They could stand united (shoulder to shoulder) in front of the house before the thugs arrive. Maybe then this story would make the news and show the Tea Party’s peaceful assembly in opposition to the union thugs’ intimidation tactics.

JimRob, Kristinn - would you be willing/available to organize something?

Hope the unions make their life miserable.

Well, they've turned places like Detroit into complete hellholes, so they DO have a track record for misery.

Would the union bosses be okay with having their own addresses posted online as well? Maybe with pictures of their wives and children?

It can be done fairly easily.

Apparently Regulator has not been shopping in Target,K mart, Lowes, Home Depot, Sears etc. They all have merchandise made in China. WHY? Unionized companies have driven out to China by the union demands for higher and higher wages
