Congresswoman Michele Bachmann to Deliver Tea Party's

State of the Union Response - Tuesday

The Tea Party Express (www.TeaPartyExpress.org), one of the largest and most aggressive national tea party groups, is teaming up with new media developers Tea Party HD (www.TeaPartyHD.com) to host Congresswoman Michele Bachmann and broadcast her response to President Obama’s State of the Union speech on Tuesday night.

“Michele Bachmann has always been very supportive of the Tea Party Express, has long stood up for tea party principles of fiscal responsibility, and is truly a ‘Rock Star’ of the movement.  She is a natural voice for We The People, and we’re thrilled to be joining with her to respond to the President’s remarks.  Obama has demonstrated over and over that he still doesn’t get it, and has yet to ” Said Tea Party Express Chairman Amy Kremer.

It is true the Tea Party movement has always been premised on the decentralized leadership at the grassroots level, without anyone spokesperson or group. It's also true her speech on behalf of Tea Party Express will be one subtle step towards her being the sole leader and Tea Party Express being the leading group.

She’s getting dangerously close to assuming a leadership position nobody has elected her to. With a Presidential run being teased, this is a mistake.

The sheep on the Left still don’t understand the Tea Party, and spent the election season calling anyone from Sharon Angle to Boehner, “Tea Party Leaders”, and we saw how wildly the tag “Tea Party candidate” got tossed around. Nobody in the Tea Party needs Bachmann to speak on their behalf in a formal rebuttal, engaging in more redundant political showboating.

The Tea Party Express is a legitimate expression of the Tea Party, is an activist organization, and has asked the founder of the House Tea Party Caucaus to speak. It does project power, but I don't think it assumes all power from the entire Tea Party movement.

Various Tea Party organizations are free to have their own speakers, too. They are not being muscled out or anything.

And I don't think that the public is going to forget Sarah Palin's connection with the Tea Party any time soon.

Consider: he is an elected Republican in a Democrat district...I think that shows he can bring in responsible people who believe we need to cut spending. I didn’t know Paul Ryan was anti-tea party

The reason I said that is because he was one of the ones that prevented Bachmann from being on a committee in the House, and it was supposedly because of her association with the TPM.

The old guard in the Congress are very afraid to give the new conservative reps much say in the House.

They need to get over themselves, because there is a reason that the House had such a massive turnover last November.

Many still believe that the tea party groups want to form a third party, and a third SOTU speech may reinforce that opinion. If she uses the speech to inform about who tea party people are and why they want Republicans to represent their views, it could be a good thing. We have just been accused of being responsible for a mass murder and many (mostly liberals) have accepted the accusation as true. This is because tea parties have been described by media as violently opposed to the government. We need someone to argue our case or we will stand convicted in the court of public opinion.
