Did he have a jar of baby feet on his desk? Maybe like the Philly abortion hero who was busy “snipping” the spinal columns of live births (mostly of black children)...and also, alas, somebody who can claim African ancestry.

Abortion is murder and all the pretty euphemisms and 'legal' mumbo-jumbo can't alter that tragic fact. That the president of the United States celebrates this atrocity and permanent stain on the nation, much like slavery, which was hotly defended at one time and seen as a 'right', is appalling. But why am I not surprised?

Obama said the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision that legalized abortion affirmed what he called a "fundamental principle: that government should not intrude on private family matters."

Which apparently is the only "private family matter" that he doesn't wish to intrude upon.

Abortion was legal in all 50 states prior to Roe v. Wade in cases of danger to the life of the woman.

More than anything else 0bozo has said that shows how little he cares or knows about the Constitution and the principles it was founded upon.

Our Constitution was based on the principles expressed in the DoI and proceeds from that. It was not based on popular consensus or secular philosophies of law. Here are the relevant passages that define the direction and purpose of the Constitution.

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, ..."

The principles of Constitutional law are right there.

~"all men are created equal"~ Religion and science agree that 'men' are created at conception.

~"with certain unalienable rights"~ Rights that exist whether they are recognized by government or not and cannot be taken away or given away.

~"that among these are Life, ..."~ Life is an unalienable right to be protected and the two, life and rights, arise together created as one.

~"That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, ..."~ There you have the only principle set forth, by our Founding documents, for instituting a government which is a set of secular laws. Government is not established on the basis of protecting secular laws and vague legal concepts like 'personhood.' Its sole purpose is to protect our rights.

If secular law defines things empirically then why would it ignore the empirical findings of science? The fact that life, completely and uniquely individual life, begins at conception is beyond scientific theory. It's an established observable irrefutable scientific fact.

Since both religious and scientific views agree that life begins at conception what system of thought and logic is secular law founded on that defines a "person" differently? It clearly does not come from any religious view. It does not come from any scientific view. It has no basis in our Founding principles and it has no basis in secular law, which is supposed to follow those principles, other than the arbitrary decision of Roe v. Wade.

Where does 0bama come up with this "fundamental principle?" Fundamental to what?

Abortion is the issue that turned me against the left, and made me a conservative. It’s very sad to see the leader of the free world commemorating a court decision that is responsible for the death of 53 million fellow Americans.
