Rep. Bachmann's response won't be aired by most television networks

Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) might not get the national audience she'd hoped for Tuesday evening, when she delivers her response to the State of the Union address.

Only one television network — CNN — plans to air Bachmann's response to President Obama in its entirety, which she'll deliver separately from the official Republican response. She will make her remarks to the Tea Party Express, which will live-stream her speech on its website.

Better to attack her later with carefully edited , misleading soundbites, where they can spin it any way they like.

Agree; and think the 'fly on the wall' per their decision making would confirm.

Will Pelosi accept Cantor’s SOTU seat invite?

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) has invited his Democratic counterpart Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) to sit with him at Tuesday’s State of the Union.

Cantor’s office said he made the ask last night. Pelosi’s office didn’t respond to an email asking if the former speaker would cozy up next to Cantor.

The two hardly are pals. Cantor Monday blasted Pelosi for not meeting with Republicans — a contention that the Californian’s office says is not true.

parties aren’t mentioned in the constitution

That has nothing to do with the topic at hand. We're talking about the newsworthiness of a speech, not Constitutional rights.

Rep. Bachmann is a Republican and the Republican response is already being given by Rep. Ryan.

Why can't Lindsey Graham start his own "Closeted Cretins Caucus" and demand to have the networks air his ramblings? A lot of folks want to hear from Rubio, DeMint, Christie, and Palin. why not give them air time too?

The tryouts, instead of claiming divine right, would do well to wonder why so many people feel they need Bachmann to speak to their opinions.

Seems to me that Bachmann and TPX are the ones claiming "divine right" to speak for a group of people who keep saying they have no leaders.

I get your protocol in politics. I really do. I am sick of the PC and RINO’s and DNC. The sucky face hand holding PC of Hannity or Olbermann firing us up for what... while they make 6 figures? And don’t dare say like some idiots have posted on this forum in the past, that this is class envy of the wealthy. It is that the middle/upper class is gone while they all jet around and spend our money on tee total stupid BS.

I’ll tell ya where it ends. It ends with the RINO GOP that’s where. It ends with the voice of the people. It ends when they stop the ridiculous state of the union (R or D Presidents) up down up down applause teleprompted speech and total BS as they all go off to their beach homes and vote in another pay raise and I am laid off from my job. Thats where it ends.

Where does it end? Where do we draw the line? How about whoever represents a large group of people who have something to add to the debate,, and are unrepresented by either party?

Its funny how the reps want tea to fall into the repub ranks,,, they still don’t get it.

can somebody stop them and ask them to define progressive vs. liberal?

A***sow's ear*** by any other name is still a sow's ear, right?

They're Cultural Marxists whether they call themselves liberals or progressives or Trotskyites.

Cantor and Ryan had better realize their ‘divine right’ as our reps was enacted and only possible from tea party and Independents.

By your logic,,, Bachmann should just be good and do what the repub leaders say. The establishment repubs are showing clear intent to give tea the finger. TEA will return the favor next election if they don’t get the message.

Your beloved reps better wake up,,,, fast.

FWIW, “progressive” was the in word for Communists/Socialists from the late 19th century through the 1930s. Then, when it became too closely identified with the Soviet Union, they dropped the word and turned to “liberal” instead.

Now that “liberal” has been worn out, they are reviving the word “progressive,” with the history of which most people aren’t that familiar.

It’s the usual leftist Orwellian policy of inserting new words—euphemisms—when the meaning of the old ones become too well understood and rightly hated.

Rep. Bachmann can do whatever she wants. I just refuse to participate in the wailing and gnashing of teeth going on because she's trying to work outside the system, and yet people expect the system to play along.

Contrast to Gov Palin, for example, who works outside the system and has figured out how to work around it. Or Gov. Christie, who manages to work within the system and still be a "loose cannon".

If TPX and Rep. Bachmann want to buck the established order, then they need a better game plan to deal with the consequence than whining about being ignored.

Bachmann Just posted on Facebook something to the effect that her friend Paul Ryan is giving the GOP response and he deserves it.

Cantor dissed Bachmann. How stupid are the GOP? Who do they think they are?

He didn't diss her. You are getting jerked around by a liberal MSM!

You mean that you won't join the rest in getting jerked around by the liberal main stream media?

Ryan is giving the GOP response going to lambaste all the reckless bailouts and spending even though he abetted the Obama admin in voting for all of it. Bachmann is giving the Tea Party response true, factual rebuttal respectfully after Ryan is finished looking like a hypocrite and inviting the Dems to ask, "if we're so bad why did YOU go along with us?" ?

In a way you’re correct. But the media is playing off that he or the GOP didn’t give the tea party response much credibility.

So this is why none of them are airing it. If it is a tradition/ protocol thing. I am saying I think the SOTU tradition/protocol no matter which party is POTUS or majority is one that should be broken and changed. (Up down up down applause fake speech )

So therefore the opposing parties response can be broken as well. Especially being the fact that the tea party succeeded in the way that it did in election results.
