A White House senior adviser said Tuesday night that President Obama is "going to address [gun control]."
In an interview with NBC's Brian Williams, David Plouffe responded to criticism that the president did not mention gun control in his State of the Union address. Some Democrats on Capitol Hill and gun-control advocates have called for new legislation in the wake of the deadly shooting that killed six and injured Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) earlier this month.
Plouffe said Obama's speech on Tuesday was focused on the economy. He added that the president has been clear on his views on gun control, citing Obama's position of reinstating the expired assault weapons ban.

You can’t have communism with an armed populace. People with guns won’t allow themselves to be thrown into slavery.
Pfft! He won’t say a peep. We have won this issue as convincingly as it is possible to do in modern politics. The cause of gun control has been routed for a couple of generations, if we pay even modest attention to whom we elect.

It will soon be a moot point though, I think. Before long a simple firearm is not going to be of much account. Weapon technology is advancing and the weapons we are allowed to own are staying the same.
This is a simple distraction from whatever is brewing.
Everyone who wanted a gun had many years back.
Wasted time. Just buy bullets.
The only thing the Pelosi Congress did on guns was loosen the laws (i.e., National Parks and maybe some other small stuff).
If Obama has any thoughts about getting this House to lift a finger on gun control, he’s dreaming. His only chance is by decree.

Like so much else, he really means, “I’ll tackle the important issue of that damn Constitution getting in the way of my plans” and he’ll have the entire democrat fascist party, the democrat academic rewards machine, and the old media propaganda machine right in there with him telling everyone why the Constitution is obsolete.
Correct, if we still had the "right to bear arms" I would be allowed to own my own Howitzer. But remember how much the Commies hate/fear gun ownership and remember what a weapon a 50BMG is. And remember that in the right hands a simple knife is a terrible weapon.

Obama sure wants to lose in 2012. Gun Control is not an issue for the laypeople, and will lose Obama Ohio, Florida, and Virginia, among other states.
Anyone who hasn’t figured out by now that Obama has it in for the 2nd amendment, isn’t going to learn. SCOTUS is the only thing standing between Obama and confiscation.
Correction SCOTUS, the House, the US military and the armed citizen stand in the way of confiscation.
