How can a Dem president tell that his SOTU was a for-real floperewski? When even Andrea Mitchell pans it. Yet that's precisely what NBC's chief foreign affairs correspondent did on Morning Joe today.

What was particularly unkind about Andrea's cut was that she criticized both the form and the substance of the speech. After observing that Pres. Obama's oratory lacked "energy" and "passion," Mitchell opined that "it doesn't add up. The dollars and cents don't add up." Ouch.

Before Andrea's assessment, the rest of the panel, with the notable exception of Howard Dean who managed to defend the speech, took turns lampooning it, with Joe Scarborough contributing a particularly scathing basketball analogy.

Can you show me anywhere in that speech where Obama has indicated that he is moving anywhere but left? What specific thing did he say that would suggest to you that he is more moderate than he was 3 months ago? And would you believe anything he read last night?

I didn't watch either. This was probably the first SOTU address that I purposely missed in about 30 years. I can't stand to watch/listen to him anymore. I can't stand how lib media defends and applauds him. And I can't stand what is and has happened to our country since BO moved into the White House. People are more and more at each others throats over politics, people walk around with chips on their shoulders expecting the govt. to do everything for them, and people are angrier on both sides of the political line. I have never lived in such a hateful time in America that I recall. Maybe it was like this before at times, but perhaps I was not old enough to notice.

To me it just seems that Obama has not done anything to make people "HOPEful" but has done a lot to make people HATEful. He has destroyed America from within, and has reduced our status internationally.

I know there are plenty of people, like me, who know the American spirit of optimism, morality, values, etc. is still alive...the Tea Party movement is an example. But, I still have never seen so much negativity and anger on the side of the left. And the formation of the Tea Party movement, its growth, its appeal...is testimony to how much negativity and government control is being resented and unacceptable to the America loving patriotic citizens.

BO in the White House does not represent anything good in America, and has done nothing good for Americans. So I just don't listen to him anymore. He does what he wants no matter what critics and/or advisers tell him.

His agenda, no matter what he says in any speech, is just to destroy the financial and military strength of our country, allow a stronghold of fanatic Islamists to develop here, and make everyone dependent on government hand-outs and assistance...thereby controlling the populace. That is all he wants, nothing else matters...no other problems or incentives get his real attention.

I heard some of the SRM's critique of zero's show of the onion last night. I can't believe the love they have for this idiot in chief. There was a "focus group" in Austin [mostly liberals] last night and most of them thought he struck out as well. I don't think 92% thought it was a good speech.
