Egyptian anti-government activists throw stones at riot police during clashes in Cairo, Egypt, Jan. 26, 2011.
Carter Redux.
We have seen the result, imagine what this
means for the next 20 years.
But not the Tea Party.
“Demonstrate or riot? Is there a distinction for Gibbs? “
If you had a true dictator complete with secret police, you’d riot too.
Obummer supports rock-throwing rioters in Egypt but can’t stand peaceable assemblies of the Tea Partiy in his own country. Now I know he’s related to Janus, the two-faced god of the Romans.
There are certainly problems with Egypt under Mubarak. Many are problems common to any Islamic country, since an Islamic culture by its nature is incapable of being free and productive either politically or economically. And some are problems with his very rigid regime.
The biggest problem, however, is that it almost had to be rigid and oppressive in order to prevent Islamist forces from taking over. I suspect that this current “uprising” is not going to result in a flowering of democracy and capitalism, but in a takeover by the Muslim Brotherhood or some other fundamentalist Islamic group, just as it did in Iran.
This is very dangerous; for one thing, Egypt is much better armed than Iran was in 1979, and because of their victories over the Great Satan and coupled with Obama’s complaisant attitude, the Islamists are much bolder and more aggressive than they were then.
Iran redux. Gibbs seems to think these are
Egyptian Code Pinkers, the same mistake Carter
made. Bad move, one we and Israel will pay for
for a long time.
“The Obama administration on Wednesday voiced its support for the Egyptian peoples rights to freedom of expression and assembly”
THIS is beyond insane. The muslim brotherhood is behind these protests, and if Egypt falls, there will be war the likes of which the US has not seen since WWII. The Middle East will blow like a whale with heartburn and all the king’s horses will not be able to put it back together again.
I have not forgotten the “special invitation” issued to the muslim brotherhood by obama himself, and the “personal meeting” when he was in Cairo.
I swear to you that if I was the PM of Israel and Mubarak goes down, Aswan follows within TEN seconds.
I don’t think I’d go that far, however cleaning out
Gaza and declaring a southern border would be
in order. Do the same with the West Bank and
solve both problems.
Or Cubans or Venezuelans or Iranians and especially not the citizens of Arizona.
We have the entire middle east burning thanks to O’s brand of ‘intelligent’ diplomacy.
He projected a weakness that has proven deadly for citizens in just about every country on earth.
The world needed a strong America. The jackass in the White House thought that by diminishing America he could build up the islamic world he could not have been more incorrect.

The Obama administration seems rather selective in their definition of who is and who isn’t a dictator.
(excerpt) "I don't doubt that there are a host of issues that didn't receive billing in the State of the Union that will still encompass a decent amount of time inside the administration in 2011," Gibbs said.
As for guns, Gibbs said: "I wouldn't rule out that at some point the president talks about the issues surrounding gun violence. I don't have a timetable or obviously what he would say, but I wouldn't rule that out in the future."..... (end excerpt)
Push the pal is to Egypt then seal the border.
And Glilbbs talks glibbly about rights, while a woman (Clinton) tells the muslim Egyptians to calm down, and O&M prepare for their nest vacation.
Not only will Egypt fall to jihadis, but will be factor in touching off a four front war against Israel. O&M will return from vacation to send US forces into the fray just before O&M leave for their next vacation - returning from which the magic couple will find the US in crisis, declare a National Emergency, postpone 2012 elections and go on a well deserved vacation.
And so begins another world war...
Funny. I don’t remember Obama supporting the Iranians’ right to demonstrate.
So we know (as if we didn’t already) which protests will be supported and which ones the government will deny here at home.
The problem is that the Islamists are the only ones offering an alternative to the dictators. If there were a third way, a democratic movement, I think a lot of people would get behind it. The key here is a strong personality that people can get behind. They desperately need a Lech Walesa or Vaclav Havel.
