I have been awaiting a return of common sence to government.

Bondi “banned” something that was a known clone to an already banned dangerous substance, and there is no legal controversy in her action, as far as I can tell.

Since I do try to keep current on current events, I didn't really require a long explanation of the latest “market based” attempt to sell dangerous drugs to minor children.

The companies producing these products, and those companies selling them, are just the latest variations of garden variety illegal drug dealers.

I am not an ignorant Libertarian, aka anarchist.
“You” want to sell dangerous, mind altering drugs to my kid?
“I” want to stop you from doing so.
The government says I can't kill you to protect my child from your actions.
What makes you think I must abide by government edicts, but you don't have to live within the law?

You want anarchy?

Bring it.

I’m not a parent myself, so I’m sure you have insights that I cannot possibly understand yet.

I’m not a Libertarian in the strictest sense, but I do believe that people are responsible for their own actions, including children. Younger kids (pre-teens, etc.) should be constantly guided by responsible parents, and I’m certain that they’ll turn out fine. As a kid, I don’t know anyone who would’ve said to me, “Hey Ronnie, try these bath salts, they make you silly.” Nor would I even endeavor to use them, mostly because my mother raised me well enough to know, “Umm... bath salts? No thanks, dude.”

I just think Bondi jumped the shark a little quick on this one. Fire up a public service campaign, flood the airwaves with warnings about the products, and let the market dictate. These thugs will go elsewhere to peddle their wares if no one buys them.

Again, I’m not a parent, so I’m not thinking from a papa-bear standpoint. That being said, I certainly hope your rhetorical diatribe wasn’t aimed at me. I don’t much take well to being threatened by a peer over an opinion.

So is it your considered opinion that minor children are totally responsible for their “market based choices”, and Bondi “overreacted” in immediately clamping down on the adult purveyors of an illegal, dangerous designer drug product, targeted at ignorant minor children?

Perhaps you should review this entire thread.
You didn't answer my question to you regarding pint sized gasoline sales.
There is no shame in being previously ignorant of the prevalence of illegal designer drugs, their history, and the applicable laws already written against them.

There is a very large degree of shame one must own in stubbornly clinging to a foolishly stated opinion, ignoring all the facts provided, and facts otherwise readily available, on this particular website.

BTW, you are not my “peer”.
Since you have already admitted willfull ignorance on this specific topic including, but not limited to:
1.Current applicable laws
2.No personal experience of the situation.
3.No casual observation of directly relative situations.

I wonder why you defend your opinion to yourself, against all odds.

But hey..Have a nice day!
