TALIBAN SPOKESMAN: 'Anyone who knows about Islam knows that stoning is in the Koran, and that it is Islamic law. There are people who call it inhuman - but in doing so they insult the Prophet. They want to bring foreign thinking to this country' WARNING GRAPHIC CONTENT Horrific video footage has emerged of Taliban insurgents stoning a couple to death for alleged adultery in northern Afghanistan. Hundreds of villagers can be seen on the video standing around as the woman, Siddqa, is buried up to her waist in a four foot hole in the ground. Two mullahs pass sentence before the crowd begins to throw rocks at her head and body as she desperately tries to crawl free.

you are correct, but the Tenach is not an “old” testimate. it is the living word.
adultry is a hedious act that breaks up families and rips apart the bond between husband, wife and Hashem. Trust is a trait that is essential when humans approach the oricales of G-d. I knew some christian would involk their lawless belief into this event and intentionaly mis communicate what the Yeshua said to the woman who was supposedly caught in adultry. It says in the epistles that they wanted to catch him in teaching against the laws of Moses(Hashem). They were intentionaly lying also, where was the man who was caught with her? those dumb asses. do you all know what day this event happened on? and what he wrote in the ground? because if you did you would know the truth and understand the importance of the Torah and the power it generates in this universe. A man will come in the near future and proclaim the Torah is invalid and that people should follow him and his christian beliefs. The religion of the false messiah is already working within christanity. If you reject the Torah, Messiah will reject you before Hashem. Thats why we don’t have a problem with divorces and the family break down here in the united states.

I have a photobucket account and a flickr account. Both will pull any graphics I do that are about the hate that the Muslims use against the world and their own people.
Yea... we have free speech.... That's a damn lie.

Before we get all indignant, remember that the Old Testement calls for stoning as a punishment for a number of offenses.

Which for a very primitive people was an effective means of enforcing certain laws.

What this video shows is that muslims are every bit as primitive as people from many thousands of years ago were. Backward is a word used to describe those unwilling to move forward when all others have. The ancient Jews moved forward thousands of years ago, the muslims do not.

While stoning may have been condoned as punishment in the Old Testament, remember how Jesus stopped the crowd from stoning a woman for adultery by saying that those without sin should cast the first stone. That is one of the many differences between Christianity and Islam.

I was thinking about “A Clockwork Orange” the other day after seeing the girls in NY beating up the Wendy’s Manager. That’s about the 3rd senario I’ve read about this month where teenagers are attacking adults for no reason...I need to read that book again.

"Are there any videos from then, or just books???"
Not sure if that is a joke or if I'm missing the point you're trying to make.
My only point was that regardless of what it says in the Old Testament, he's not going to come up with any examples of it being done today based on that.
And the fact that someone could try to equate what is written there with this barbaric video is beyond asinine.

The world has changed a bit since then. We don’t nail people to crosses any more either.

I'm not sure if there are any Jews who are calling for the reinstatement of those barbaric punishments (I've seen many calling for the return of animal sacrifice in Israel, however).

I'm loathe to step into this -- clearly the muslim faith is a false faith, and therefore they have no authority to put people to death; and clearly these punishments are used to support their barbaric treatment of women as slaves to be sold to old dirty men.

But it was God Almighty who instituted stoning for the violation of His commandments. It was his appointed representatives who passed judgment, and the deaths by stoning were therefore holy and just.

So I cringe at the blanket condemnation of the practice as "barbaric", or something that should rightly be "reformed" by civilized man, suggesting God is somehow uncivilized.

We still have the death penalty in this country, but we do it more "humanely", as if the injuries, pain, and suffering of the last minutes of one's life is of greater concern than they days, months, or years of living knowing the exact time of your death, or the termination of one's life on this earth.

Stoning seemed to be stopped by Jesus because the Jewish leaders no longer had the moral authority to impose punishments. One might argue today that our country has lost it's moral authority to enact what was once a Godly punishment of execution as well.

Sorry, this doesn't pertain to the barbarity of the muslim practice as I said...

Some cultures are better than others. Some religions are better than others. Islam is the scourge of the earth. The Pope and the Kings of Europe fought a war to push the Muslims back 1000 years ago. Now we will have to fight that war again. Islam is not compatible with any other culture or religion. We will have to root it out and drive a stake in its heart.

Let’s be very clear: God hates sin. And when he so chooses the wrath to be poured out will be horrible, unimaginable, and inescapable.

When God called for stoning in the OT, it was not a capricious act. But rather it was a call for punishment as an indication of how much he hates sin.

Enter Christ. He is the fulfillment of the old law. His death absorbs all the wrath meant for those who are His. He took the “stoning” that we all deserve. He paid our price.

Let’s not wince at OT references to horrible punishments, rather let the old references remind us that we ALL deserve a stoning - at least - for our caviler actions and attitudes toward a righteous God.

But with Christ we can look to God as Abba (father) and not be afraid when His patience comes to an end...

There are stonings in the Bible. Were those people human?

Yes. Stoning was the ancient equivalent of a firing squad where there is shared responsibility for the execution.

DOH! I should have known better.
I apologize if your comment(#8) was intended as sarcasm.
It seems so over the top, I should have realized.

More influence then you think. There are several on FR that work tirelessly pushing that thought pattern and DeMar and his writings.
