CHICAGO (CBS) A fiery exchange occurred Sunday between mayoral candidates Carol Moseley Braun and Patricia Van Pelt-Watkins, as allegations of drug use dominated a candidates forum.
When Watkins questioned where Braun had been for 20 years, the latter candidate fired back by saying Watkins had been using crack-cocaine.
Patricia, the reason you didnt know where I was for the last 20 years is because you were strung out on crack, Braun, staring at Watkins, said at Trinity United Church of Christ on the South Side. Now, you have admitted to that.

It seems like hard drug use is a prerequisite for community organizing.
I truly feel sorry for the good citizens of Chicago who work hard and just want a good, crime free enviroment to bring there children up in for what is forseen to happen in the next mayoral election. As an “outsider” observing from NW Indiana for years, every day the newspapers cry CORRUPTION, CORRUPTION, CORRUPTION.
Rahm is CORRUPTION
Carol Mostly is CORRUPTION
Daley is and soon to be was CORRUPTION
I thank God I do not live in Chicago.
I watched a video of their exchange, and as a person who has worked in the ghetto for many years, I would say that was a pretty tame exchange. Typical , but tame. They never did get to the exchanging of the famous and almost obligatory MF. A pretty high class ghetto exchange I thought.
oh, no......he did ! LOL someone had to say it.
People in Chicago just want a free ride and free childcare 24/7.
It's the last big repository of Stalinism in the world.
She is truly the mayor Chicago deserves.
Chicago gave us Obama. That pretty much says it all.
Classy bunch up there in Chicago.
A whole city run by crooks and morons.
It's the only way to communicate with the people you're trying to organize.....
“Carol must have spent the same time on LSD.”
On Lake Shore Drive?
LOL
IN a church, no less. wow.
Good one! I forgot about that. I imagine a LOT of people have spent years on Lake Shore Drive.
I tell people I’ve been on LSD many, many times. You get funny looks until you explain that here in Chi-town, home to the most corrupt politicians, that means Lake Shore Drive.
