Gov. Susana Martinez orders Arizona-style immigration reform

It seems the state of New Mexico is taking after its neighboring state.

New Mexico governor Susana Martinez said Monday that New Mexico is no longer an illegal immigrant sanctuary state, issuing an order to officially reverse the state’s status.

Ms. Martinez ordered the reversal of the state’s “sanctuary status,” which prohibited law enforcement from asking criminal suspects about their citizenship. The move aligns the state with Arizona, which passed a law mandating officials inquire about an individual’s immigration status.

A number of immigrant-rights group protested the move, saying it will allow for discriminatory practices.

The move makes New Mexico the latest state to implement an immigration reform system similar to the one put in place in Arizona. A number of states, including California, are considering similar laws in the wake of increased calls for immigration reform.

You mean, “No *real* American of Hispanic origin would be in favor of violating our laws”

Who cares what *Mexicans* think. They don’t live here.

I must correct myself. It was CNN who was doing the interview:

Alamogordo, New Mexico (CNN) – When CNN interviewed Susana Martinez, New Mexico's Republican candidate for Governor, we got a surprise. Our cameraman John Torigoe was trying to clip the microphone pack to the candidate's belt when she pulled away and said "Be careful, that's a gun back there." Martinez tells CNN she has a permit to carry a concealed weapon.

She was packing heat when she addressed a gathering in Alamogordo, New Mexico on Monday. She warned them not to get too confident because "as Republicans we're outnumbered."

“Must be a Typical White Person masquerading as a La-TEEN-a with that name. No “REAL” Mexican would be in favor of enforcing the law.”

For real. The hate mail the Guv will receive will be extraordinary, no doubt.

No “REAL” Mexican would be in favor of enforcing the law.

That's because Governor Martinez is an AMERICAN from New Mexico. Texas has a long history of folks with similar surnames, like Ruis, Navarro and de Zavala, who were signatories of the Texas Declaration of Independence, where they told Mexico where to get off.

See? Her family was in the bandit Pancho Villa’s army. No sir, I’m sorry I wasn’t more clear - I meant she couldn’t be a “real” hispanic the way that a conservative black is not a “real” black to the savage left. I was being sarcastic and should have marked it.

No problem. I am glad you were being sarcastic and not a racist.

I’m a racist: I believe in the inherent superiority of the human race. No other race, to my knowledge, is declared to be or claims to be made in the image of God.

;)

How is your health? Please keep me updated. Been praying for you.

The good news just keeps on coming (well, in some areas) concerning this issue of illegals. Have not been this confident there is a will and a way in a long time, perhaps twenty years. There are so many standing up and being counted as supporters of the Rule of Law I have lost count. Makes me proud!

Governor Susana Martinez is making me one proud old dog. I would obey her orders to sit, lay down, roll over, fetch, or play dead. I am an impressed with her stance.

Thank You, AuntB for the *ping*. My apology for not having arrived at your thread earlier. May God Bless You and Yours.
