A HIGH WIND WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 9 PM THIS EVENING TO NOON PST THURSDAY.
* TIMING: TONIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY. WINDS INCREASING LATE TONIGHT AND STRONGEST WEDNESDAY MORNING THROUGH EARLY WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON. PERIODS OF STRONGER WIND GUSTS WILL CONTINUE INTO THURSDAY MORNING.
* WINDS: WINDS NORTHEAST 25 TO 35 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 65 MPH THROUGH AND BELOW PASSES AND CANYONS AND NEAR THE FOOTHILLS. DAMAGING WIND GUSTS TO AROUND 85 MPH ARE POSSIBLE WEDNESDAY MORNING THROUGH EARLY AFTERNOON.
* IMPACTS: THE STRONG WINDS WILL MAKE DRIVING DIFFICULT. MOTORISTS WITH HIGH PROFILE VEHICLES WILL BE PARTICULARLY SUSCEPTIBLE TO THE STRONG WINDS. WATCH FOR BROKEN TREE LIMBS AND DOWNED POWER LINES.

Here in Missouri, we’ve got well over a foot of global warming now and more on the way.
I rent U-Hauls and can you believe that someone yesterday asked if they could rent a truck this morning?
For a little while, even Chicago will look clean.

Thankfully, I was able to convince them to move later this week, but the way things are looking here, I’m not sure even that’s going to happen.
It’s gotten so bad here, I heard they have taken the snow plow trucks off the roads.
I-44 is also closed at the Oklahoma borer and Gov. Nixon has declared a state of emergency.
We hit 80 yesterday. I talked to the wife earlier. It was 28 on the car overhead thermometer.
After my daughter got home from school, I got the robocall stating the entire district is closed tomorrow. The storm won’t get to south central Michigan until tonight, but *everything* is shutting down.
MSU canceled classes for only the 3rd time in history.
We were near 80 a few days ago ,...but the jet stream moves stuff thru here on the way east,...today we are in the low 60’s.
I’ve lived for over 50 years and seen all types of weather but last night was a first for me. The weather was warm and calm up until 3 a.m. when I heard a rumbling noise that seemed to gather and then - WHAM - the cold front came in and blew very hard. Instantly, things became colder.
I’ve encountered many storm systems and a lot of thunderstorm activity right before/after frontal systems but this was the first time I actually felt a front go through with no rain - only a strong wind and bitter cold that didn’t have any gradual buildup at all - just balmy one minute and a cold blast the next. This was like opening the door to a walk-in freezer that had a heavy fan blowing just on the other side.
Man, its like the world is ripping apart at the seams. The Super Bowl is still on though, right? Oh, and American Idol.
It’s been snowing here all day, but the heavy stuff just began an hour ago. It’s to the point where the houses across the street are barely visible. This will be on top of 4-5” already on the ground. Our biggest concern is with the winds expected, and our power.
Cletus! How are you weathering it thus far? And Charles, how much have you had fall so far? How soon before it begins to let up for you?
Waiting for community college to close. They’ve only closed 3-4 times in their history. (if that much) I will NOT be attending my 8:30-10:00 PM class tonight...I’m afraid I’ll get stuck there. LOL

...er...yep...I’m pimpin’ Al’s blog. Drudge linked to it today. Turns out that all this snow and stuff is...drum roll...global warming! Of you knew that was coming - but you have to read his blog for the pure comedic value.
Here’s a taste (read in Algore voice):

I love this bit...’until it hits a patch of cold air’. Yep, that’ it. All this warm air was minding its own business, and wham, like hitting a pothole, it hit a small, insignificant ‘patch’ of cold air. Silly me, I thought a giant Arctic air mass was pushing south in Texas.
....and this man was a hop skip and a jump away from being president :)
I think I saw a report that called for a 50 degree plummet for some areas.
