Krauthammer on Obama: 'Why does he pop up on television after the president of Egypt speaks?'
The Daily Caller ^ | February 1, 2011 | Jeff Poor

Some in the media have credited President Barack Obama for Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak’s decision not to seek reelection and to eventually step aside. And with Obama’s speech on Tuesday evening from the White House, is that the message he was trying to send?

On the Tuesday broadcast of Fox News Channel’s “Special Report,” network contributor Charles Krauthammer noted the importance of the president being intentionally vague in his response, but also said nothing new was learned from the president’s speech.

“There was a lot of studied ambiguity in that,” Krauthammer said. “All kinds of phrases, which can be interpreted in a lot of ways – ‘orderly transition,’ ‘it must begin now.’ He didn’t say anything about the fate of Mubarak should he leave now or not. He didn’t suggest he’s in favor of it. I think what’s important here — what I think he tried to do is to basically express solidarity with the Egyptians in the street, thinking absence of that it would alienate Egyptians and demonstrators. At least you want to make a statement of support. That’s important. There was nothing specific here. The real stuff is happening behind the scenes with the visit of Frank Wisner, the former ambassador who obviously is advising the Egyptians or giving them our input. I suspect that what is happening is they are thinking whether or not they ought to bring in the opposition now or leave the army and Mubarak in charge and bring them in later.”

It seems to me, that Obama is plooging to hard.
Why is he so focused on Egypt?

The answer of course is that Egypt is a keystone to keeping the MB from over running Israel.

Obama is in one hella hurry to turn all those tanks/jets and missiles over to the jihadist.

Seems to me that the Egyptian protests were about food.

Then Barry steps up and makes it all about “democracy, human rights and change”

He didnt give a **** about that when he was throwing parties for Hu Jinto.

Charles Krauthammer is being too kind to Obama. The reason Obama pops up after Mubarak speaks is precisely to interject politics into something that should not be political. He is trying to appear relevant, and to follow what the media and the pols and pundits are saying- he is trying to show how smart and powerful he is. Charles is right it can be seen in the wrong light (that we are controlling Egypt). It is a stupid, risky and childish thing to do. Obama needs to STOP it.

I heard that Pres__ent Obama called Mubarak yesterday. He told him to step down and not to run for re-election. Obama responded by telling Mubarak to mind his own business.

Agreed to your post #7.

President Obama, after sitting on his hands when the Egypt turmoil began (he had important parties to attend, and golfing to get done) has seemed like someone trying to run to the front of a parade that took off awhile ago.
The Won is playing the game of "Look at me - aren't I relevant..."

I think he needs another vacation... At least he'll be wrapped up on Sunday watching ESPN and the Superbowl (his day of worship with one of his gods) - but he has way too much free time on his hands.

ah contraire’ mon ami

watch the hypnosis in action:

* I * SPOKE.. Mubarak recognizes {I spoke and Mubarak listens so you should to}. not sustainable. CHANGE. MUST take place {same as MUST BEGIN NOW} . Not role of any other country. * I * indicated {I SPOKE}. MY BELIEFS. MUST BEGIN NOW. {Zero then dictates terms that no other country should dictate:} MUST be, MUST be, MUST be, MUST START NOW {same as must begin now} responsive to EGYPTIAN PEOPLE. YOUNG PEOPLE, * I * want to be clear, * I * HEAR your voice. * I * BELIEVE. YOU WILL determine. YOU WILL seize.{you will same as YOU MUST}

see it? that is why people think Zero has something to do with it - he just hypnotized you into thinking he is omnipotent!

The leftist MSM already pretends that none of that even exits.

I told my sister right after Obama made his Egypt speech today that Krauthammer’s assessment was right with one exception, or should I say omission. Obama’s targeted audience was not only overseas, it was for his domestic audience as well. It was a look at me and how presidential I am speech. It was a I’m so powerful I can tell Mubarek what to do speech, I can change the course of politics in Egypt speech (for the worse), a vote for me because I have such wise gravitas speech, a completely egotistical speech as is his wont. What a narcissist.
