Supreme Court Associate Justice Sonia Sotomayor paid a surprise visit to Rosa Parks Elementary School in West Berkeley this morning. Sotomayor is in Berkeley to judge a moot court competition at the University of California Berkeley Law School, Boalt Hall, this evening. The competition has been moved to Zellerbach Hall because of the demand for tickets.
Sotomayor chose Rosa Parks because two children of law school dean Chris Edley and his wife, Maria Echaveste, attend the school, and she heard about its commitment to diversity and its Spanish language immersion program. Sotomayor is the first Hispanic Supreme Court justice and the third female justice.
The children only found out this morning that Sotomayor would be visiting, but they had been studying her career since the two classroom teachers had been informed of the visit. In the first class the justice visited, the children performed a play about Rosa Parks. Sotomayor then shook every student's hand before answering questions.

Miguel Estrada was a brilliant scholar who was blocked by Democrats for purely racial reasons (as the “Durbin letter” revealed). The Democrats were determined to have the first “Latino” justice be one of theirs. And boy did they pick a doozy. This stupid dingbat was named just after being reversed for her New Haven Firefighter decision that was unworthy of a 1st year law student. She is perhaps the most unqualified justice to ever sit on the Court.
...And just WTF is that? Are they teaching American kids how to speak Spanish in California schools? I wonder what kind of reaction we would have in the press if Justice Alito were to go to a school in Harlem, that focuses on teaching the Black children 'good English'.

Didn't Estrada's wife eventually commit suicide, at least partly because of how their lives were destroyed by the Leftists? I seem to recall reading or hearing that somewhere. If true, that's so terribly sad and despicable.

Big deal, all three got their seats because they're women and/or non-white, not on pure ability. Sotomayer looks about as much like a U.S. Supreme Court Justice in that picture as does a Mexican illegal alien who rolled in through the desert last week. No dignity for the office she holds whatsoever with that "I-just-got-out-of-the-shower" hairdo and slutty clothing. THIS is a power of example for those children???
How is America going to survive for long by placing our leaders in office as a result of their skin color, sex or race, not ability? Leadership is what makes or breaks a nation. This shallow leftist fatty sitting on the SCOTUS is truly insane. I really love this country and its rich, wonderful history. It's a shame having to watch it rot from within like this.
