On January 24, Former President George W. Bush spoke at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, where his presidential library will be located, and weighed in on immigration. "What's interesting about our country, if you study history, is that there are some 'isms' that occasionally pop up -- pop up.

Sorry, he’s just a private citizen now and does have a right to his opinion albeit dumb.

Good grief! We have bigger problems than what Bush thinks.

No problem. I was just cross linking in case anyone wanted to read the comments on the other thread. This was carried on C-SPAN with Brian Lamb and students from SMU.

Here's the question and answer about 3 minutes in length. The Q/A is about 60% down the the transcript section and about 3 minutes in length.

The left changes their label all the time,
and conservatives really never have.

But, I think it’s time to start referring to our ideology as “Americanism”.

There are several advantages to this, including precision of definition, clarity of purpose, and it will REALLY p*ss off the left to be inherently painted as “anti-Americanists”

Why not just call ‘em “bitter clingers”? I intend to let his book gather dust on the bookstore shelf.

Maybe the dems were right and he is dumb as a box of rocks?
Nativist:
1) the policy of protecting the interests of native inhabitants against those of immigrants.
2)the policy or practice of preserving or reviving an indigenous culture.

Origin: 1835–45, Americanism

So what's the problem Jorge? America for 'Americans'
Including those immigrants who BELIEVE in the great American Experiment and its ideals. You know that American Exceptionalism thingy Señor presidente.

(He's prolly exchanging his pension money into Euros.)

"Stay out da Bushes."

All of them. Any of them.

Anybody who's mixed up with them, or ever has been.

Yes. Americanism. I had a class in high school. Americanism vs. Communism. The class taught us the difference between free market capitalism and socialism. We also had ethics and economics. We had classes in History and American Constitutional Government. We took Algebra, Geometry and Chemistry. Pys. Ed. was an hour every day with 20 minutes of calisthenics and a run of 1 mile then playing the sport of the season Now this was all in 3 years between the 10th and 12th grade. I did not attend College but I often think I am better educated than those with Masters degrees today. I graduated in 1967.

vincente fox in his auto biography said that just before 9/11 bush was planning to relax the borders completely. 9/11 put the kibosh on that.

What were the options? Algore? Yon Kerry?

Look at last year, McCain and Obama.

This is why the media and the GOP is desperate to keep out Palin. She’s been out of loop, the Club. She is unlike loser as a youth Bush, or loser, poor, insecure Yon Kerry or abandoned, pet black Obama. She has a secure internal identity. This, is a problem for the elite. They want cripples they can spackle and paint. Palin is way way too risky. Why she might even really mean what she says.

Romney would be a good choice. Another isolated cripple with a father/Mormon leadership issue, that will do ANYTHING to get and be reelected the first Mormon President, and please his daddy.

People have know idea how true the old saying of “the lesser of two evils” when voting.

Fact of the matter is that no presidential candidate has in quite some time been nominated for their parties ticket that wasn’t a member of the Council of Foreign Relations, a globalists group.

What was his approval rating when he left office, something like 23%? It wasn’t the war in Iraq, it was his attempt to shove amnesty down our throats.

True. I only voted Bush because of Gore and Kerry. I wanted Ron Paul. Those who think Pauls ideas are Kook should watch what is going on in the Middle East right now. Eventually it will become apparent.

Go crawl in a hole and stay there, Jorge.

You’ve done enough damage to the Republican Party and the conservative cause without opening your big yap any more.

And take that idiot brother, Jebbie, with you.

We can be of an “America First” mindset without being “isolationist”.

Unless there’s another system on this planet that you think works better?
