Sarah Palin Turns Down Coveted Keynote Speaking Slot At CPAC Conference
ABC News ^ | February 3, 2011 | Michael Falcone

After skipping the popular Conservative Political Action Conference for the past three years, Sarah Palin has once again turned down the invitation of CPAC officials to address the conference this year.

CPAC organizers invited Palin to deliver the closing-night keynote speech on Saturday Feb. 12, immediately following the announcement of the results of CPAC’s annual presidential straw poll, but after several days of negotiations, she declined.

“We’re disappointed that she wasn’t able to make it this year,” American Conservative Union Chairman David Keene said through a spokesman on Thursday. He noted that Palin "expressed interest in wanting to come this year," but said that it came down to "a scheduling issue."

I imagine the typical PDS crowd will come in any second and start blasting Palin for passing on CPAC, saying things like she’s blowing off conservatives (or demanding too much money) or how she’s simply afraid to go and still lose the straw poll, or some other such nonsense.

Naturally, of course, had she accepted, we’d be hearing nonstop how Palin was tacitly endorsing GayPAC.

If she thinks that she doesn’t want anybody to take either the credit or blame for making or breaking her, I can’t say I begrudge her that thought process.

What’s wrong with CPAC? Didn’t Rush keynote there 2 or 3 years ago?

They've been hijacked by a gay rights group.

I think her self promotion phase is over. Sort of like the Beatles 1964-1966. Now she becomes reclusive and sought after.

When she re-emerges: fewer appearances, more scripted, more substance, more difficult to tear down.

Note: her Facebook postings have ceased also.

CPAC supports the Islamic invasion, CAIR, Palin-hate and antiSemitism.

"(at CPAC 2010, the) message there was that "real conservatives" don't support the war
on terror because it is a creation of the "Israeli lobby" - which coalesces with the left-
wing's new anti-Semitism against neoconservatives. Karen Kwiatkowski is a darling of
both the leftist Huffington Post and the anti-Semitic paleocon site Antiwar.com.

…is a board member of the ACU, and from the looks of CPAC's
covered topics and omission of discussion of jihad, it looks as if he exerts enormous
influence over David Keene, the ACU's nominal leader. Norquist and his ally Suhail
Khan seem to be in charge at CPAC - no CPAC event goes on that doesn't reflect their perspective. ….
Grover Norquist's troubling ties to Islamic supremacists and jihadists have been known
for years. He and his Palestinian wife, Samah Alrayyes, who was director of
communications for his Islamic Free Market Institute until they married in 2005, are very
active in "Muslim outreach." …..
It was Norquist who ushered these silver-tongued jihadists into the Oval Office after the
worst attack ever on American soil. ….
Grover Norquist was on the jihad payroll before and after the carnage and death of
September 11….
Norquist also introduced Nihad Awad, cofounder and executive director of the Council
on American-Islamic Relations, to President Bush. ….
It is no surprise that CPAC 2010, like CPAC 2009, had nothing addressing the war we
are actually engaged in. This is due to the influence of Norquist, Keene, and Suhail Khan,
a CPAC board member. According to Gaffney, Khan "has repeatedly been a featured
speaker at MSA, ISNA and CAIR events" - that is, Muslim Students Association, Islamic
Society of North America, and Council on American-Islamic Relations, three groups
linked to the Muslim Brotherhood, the international Islamic organization dedicated to
establishing the rule of Islamic law and the subjugation of infidels worldwide."

Sure, David. We believe you. Maybe you can still land Arlen Specter. I hear he's free.
