Mexico supplies electricity to wintry Texas

MEXICO CITY (AFP) – Mexico's state electricity company on Wednesday started supplying electricity to the US state of Texas, where demand shot up amid unusually cold temperatures and caused power outages.

Mexico's Federal Electricity Commission "was determined to support Texas with electrical energy faced with the problems the state is suffering due to climatological conditions," a statement said.

An energy transfer of 280 megawatts began at midday (1800 GMT) via the north Mexican border cities of Nuevo Laredo, Reynosa and Piedras Negras, it added.

Texas Governor Rick Perry said in a statement that power and emergency management experts were working with utility providers to ensure power was restored as quickly as possible.

"Until that happens, I urge businesses and residents to conserve electricity to minimize the impact of this event," Perry added.

Maybe Texans can vote out open-border RINOs like Perry, Kay Bailey and Cornyn and stop worry about nonsense like football.

Texas needs to build more power plants and drill for more oil. Very simple. Defund and get rid of EPA and 9/10 of the other alphabet bureaucrats.

And shut down the anti-nuke groups. After what TXU went thru to build the Comanche Peak plant, they will never try again without protections from these eco-saboteurs.

Is it true that the DHS is asking each illegal to string a 200 ft. extension cord across the border when they come?

In good times football was OK...But since the collapse, watching millionaire lumberheads and paroles arrive in limos, then run around on a field just doesn't seem very exciting anymore..

Gosh, I would have thought all those giant windmill spread across the the panhandle to Amarillo would make more than enough power to run a modern, industrialized state like Texas. This didn't happen when Texas was covered with oil rigs and Jensen Jacks.

If you find yourself sitting in the cold and dark, your electricity off, freezing in a rolling green out, give Barry a call, and ask him where all your green energy is when you need it.

Do we have the right to free world markets are do we not, and do you support open free world markets. Not nuclear science??? Buying electrical Power from Mexico is no different than buying oil from Canada.

That might be an idea to build nukes across the border to supply parts of Texas with electricity.
