Let THIS be a lesson to those foolish enough to buy electric cars! You will be STRANDED, unable to charge the battery, when the rolling blackouts hit YOUR neck of the woods!

Gonna get worse next week. Starting late Sunday night an Extended Major Arctic Blast will enter the center of the country starting at Northern Idaho. Eventually almost the entire country will be affected. There will be at least 4 nights of Arctic Blasts pushing cold dense air similar to the air over New Mexico, Old Mexico and Texas. Here is a story about current conditions in Old Mexico.

Get your generators and gas now. One of the coldest weeks ever in US history is right around the corner.

so, time to be self reliant and make our own.

This blog post from Accuweather was posted this morning. He covers the cold blast coming Sunday night. Almost the entire country will be Arctic by Thursday. Gonna look like the Ground Hog was right however on Saturday and Sunday, but just wait until late Sunday night.

While on the other hand the US is shipping electricity to Mexico via a line from Hoover Dam through Arizona and into Sonora. Pull the plug!

Scroogie Mexico—if we sent the illegals back there Tx would have plenty of its own energy to go around.

Well, New Mexico is doing its part to help, or something. Half the state is out of natural gas because of what is going on in Texas. Funny thing is that most of the natural gas that comes to New Mexico from Texas goes from New Mexico to Texas. I hope it is making some power for Texas, because there are a lot of people here freezing.
There is enough natural gas in this country to supply all the power plants and supply all the cooking and heating gas to the entire country for hundreds of years, and we are putting up with this third world crap.
I just delivered wood to my daughter’s in-laws who had no heat at all, and I expect to get a few calls from others. This could be a busy couple of days.

This is really bad news for NM as we are having natural gas issues because of the rolling brownouts in western TX.
Just in Albuquerque they’ve set up shelters for people without a way to heat their home and all the schools are closed in an effort to save utilities; the governor sent home non-critical state employees early and has asked them not to come in tomorrow. They requested everyone turn down their thermostats and turn off any unnecessary electrical items. With the record cold we’re having there are many people without a way to heat their homes in NM.
I realize a lot of folks have it worse, but this is really bad news for NM where a state of emergency has been declared. Plus all the TX folks w/o electricity. What a mess.

Mexico Cancels Offer to Send Electricity to Texas
Heh - not enough La Mordida I suppose, and to the right person(s).
Rumor has it that it works -
Mexicans to investigate alleged bribes by U.S. firms
MEXICO CITY "A Mexican congressional committee voted Monday to investigate allegations of bribery against a senior official with the government's powerful electric utility by multiple U.S. companies, including one in Sugar Land.
The vote came as allegations against Nestor Moreno, operations director for the Federal Electric Commission, gain national traction in Mexico."

Of course they don’t. They agreed to send us illiterate, undeducated workers. They didn’t agree to trade energy like it was the commodity WE act like it is, free trader.
To: dragnet2
I always thought the Mexican re-fried bean diet was essentially a way to produce a natural, exportable source of energy.
