Fury as hospitals hit with outages while post-industrial collapse of America accelerates

The rolling blackouts now being implemented in Texas and across the country as record cold weather grips the United States are a direct consequence of the Obama administration’s agenda to lay siege to the coal industry, launch a takeover of infrastructure under the contrived global warming scam, and help usher in the post-industrial collapse of America.

right on about the time element to build new plants.
but what about those that are shut down due to stiff
EPA regulations and environmental laws, and closing of coal mines, that was by Obama’s presidential decree?

I don’t understand, did Obama close existing ones and we are short in power generation or what? Otherwise this makes no sense. Unless our consumption increased by a lot in 3years and plants would have been online had Obama approved them.

true, but... i wonder what possible negative effect he's had on new plants(if any) already under construction or old plants being repaired/upgraded???

Three months ago the president sent out a message about punishing those that are not playing ball with him. It seems now that red states are having some problems that don’t normally have.

“No policy of his regarding power plant construction would have made any difference today, because it takes much longer than two years to build a power plant and get it online.”

What you're saying is we have yet to see the negative effects of Obama’s energy policies. In the future we will have rolling blackouts and other energy catastrophes. The Obama administration is trying to turn America into a backward, third world dictatorship.

Remember Obama’s campaign statement, “So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can. It’s just that it will bankrupt them because they’re going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that’s being emitted.”

Unfortunately, it is not just the producers of electricity that will soon be bankrupt, it will be all of America.

It doesn’t really count until it hits California, New York and Illinois.

Texas stands alone among the states in refusing to be involved in implementing the new greenhouse rules, which are scheduled to start taking effect on Jan. 2. Earlier this month, a federal appeals court turned down requests from Texas and other litigants to block the regulations until legal challenges are decided.

How does this relate to the title of the article "Obama's Blocking of New Power Plants Triggers Nationwide Blackouts?"

What does giving Russians secrets about British nuclear weapons have to do with the article title "Obama’s Blocking of New Power Plants Triggers Nationwide Blackouts?"

And just to clarify, that is an exact quote from Obama himself...

Agreed that it is an assinine position. But again, what does it have to do with the article title "Obama’s Blocking of New Power Plants Triggers Nationwide Blackouts" when it takes more than two years to build a coal fired power plant and get it's electricity onto the grid?

I'm sure that there are power plants that have not expanded because they would then have to meet new stringent EPA regulations. I know of no power plants that have had to shut down due to a lack of coal...yet.

But, again, what does that have to do with my original point, which was aimed at the article title "Obama’s Blocking of New Power Plants Triggers Nationwide Blackouts?"

Yes, that is what I'm saying, and I'll add in future oil shortages due to 0bama's shutting down of all gulf drilling.

All I said was that the title of the article "Obama’s Blocking of New Power Plants Triggers Nationwide Blackouts" couldn't possibly be factual because if he banned all construction of new power plants in his inagural speech, it still wouldn't have affected the amount of electricity available this week during Texas' rolling blackouts, because a power plant started on inaguration day wouldn't have been built in time to prevent this week's blackouts.

I didn't think that was such a complicated concept to get across. There is enough evil coming out of the 0bama administration that we don't need to make stuff up.

“if he banned all construction of new power plants in his inagural speech”

Actually the Democrats started banning all construction of power plants in the U.S. right after the 2008 election before Obama had even been inaugurated. Read the article at the link and understand how bad things are.

http://www.grist.org/article/is-that-a-bonanza-in-your-docket/

The Obama administration has also worked to shut down existing power plants.

The one disagreement I have with you is that Obama's supporters, the Democrats and the environmentalists have been working to reduce the amount of fossil fuel power plants long before Obama became president. The replacement of reliable coal and natural gas fired generation with totally unreliable wind energy is responsible for the capacity problems in Texas and the Southwest.

thats exactly correct. This along with denying offshore drilling grants. We’ll be less than a 3rd world nation by the time he’s done with us.

Yep.... I agree completely with you re. Obama’s energy policies not affecting new power plant construction coming online over the last two years. Because of the timeline for permitting followed by construction, we will not see the Obama effect on new capacity for another 2 to 5 years I would guess.

But... What I do suspect is that when the root cause of the power outages in Texas and surrounding states is formally determined, it is very likely that there was a fuel supply limitation with natural gas and/or coal. Energy policies and permitting hurdles are already affecting fuel production.

I agree with you, but that wouldn't have been 0bama, however.

The Obama administration has also worked to shut down existing power plants.

No doubt true, but that's not the point of the title of the article.

No disagreement from my end. I know for years that there have been draconian coal fired emissions laws on the books that grandfathered in existing plants until they were expanded. As a result, plants were never expanded in capacity, and Kalifornia had their rolling blackouts a few summers ago in what, 2005?

Again, I am NOT defending either the 0bama or DemocRATs energy policies. I'm just calling BS on the headline to this article.
