Up to 28 million Americans a year might have coverage disrupted at least once, study finds

Under the new Affordable Care Act, the health reform package signed into law by President Barack Obama last March, millions of Americans whose income fluctuates during the year may lose health insurance for periods of time as their eligibility for different programs changes.

The authors of a new study appearing in the February issue of Health Affairs estimated that as many as 28 million U.S. adults might "churn" in and out of health insurance programs during the course of a year, sometimes losing coverage more than once.

...when their eligibility fluctuates, they're likely to lose coverage at least for a period of time.

“An estimated one-quarter of beneficiaries will likely have their coverage disrupted by crossing the income dividing line at least twice in one year, and 39 percent will over the span of two years, the authors added.

Within four years, up to 38 percent will have their coverage disrupted four times or more, they predicted.”

This is exactly how Romneycare works - if you get a job and you are lucky enough to be making more money you lose your coverage and have to negotiate new coverage, lose you job make less and lose your coverage and have to renegotiate always being aware that at tax time you have to prove you were covered or be penalized - Go Romney - NOT

More and more people are awakening to the disaster that is Obamacare. Higher premiums, higher co-pays, loss of primary doc, longer lines, loss of coverage, less benefits, blah blah blah. All blamed on the Kenyan.

Does anyone lose their auto insurance when they change jobs? Their homeowner’s insurance? Their life insurance?

All this “churning” is an artifact of government meddling. If government didn’t use the tax system to provide 30% subsidies to people who purchase employer-based coverage and 0% subsidies to those with non-group coverage, most people would get their health insurance the way they get their auto, homeowners and life insurance: by making an individual decision about what they need, shopping around and finding the best value for the money.

So Congress took a system that government had screwed up and then managed to screw it up even more. They took a system that already was the highest cost in the world and made it even more expensive. A system that was the most complicated in the world and made it even more complicated.

Heckuva job, Barry!!!

What part of UN-CONSTITUTIONAL does Obama and these idiots not get?

Right now, Obama is in contempt of court for ignoring the latest and now binding ruling. Appeal it and win, then you continue, but now legally it is dead.

Obama is continuing on his second contempt of court ruling. The first was the Gulf Oil stoppage.

Huh. I hadn’t even looked into the joys of Obamacare “if you actually WANT to participate.”
