It’s painful to think that in 22 years, we have gone from this man and nation of “greatness” to an empty, shallow society and a President that’s only claim to fame are hollow cliche’s like “Hope and Change” and “Win the Future”.
How about getting our hands dirty with the hard work of Freedom - get down on our knees, ask God to forgive us and purge our national government of those who see America’s liberty more as a threat than the “bright beacon” Ronald Reagan referred to.
The election of 2012 is the time to call back to service “Reagan’s Regiments” - let the tsunami of real political change be felt across this once great land again.
May God forgive us for not being “good stewards” of the freedom for whom so many paid for with their lives.
Indeed at the end of the speech when Reagan talks about education and what challenges were heading our way...
We dropped the ball. We fumbled.
But the last two years we’ve seen the rebuilding of the team, Reagan’s Regiments and like the team that goes years in the losing column...one day, one season...they come out with all the right players, all the right plays, and at exactly the right time.
We can do this. We know that place, that city. Let us not forget those who fought and died, served, and died trying to get here.
You can’t hide freedom’s candle under a bushel basket, it will burn right through the basket and leave it in ashed on the ground.
Reagan said,
Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction
