W.H.: Resignation of Mubarak son not enough
Politico ^ | Feb. 5, 2011 | Glenn Thrush

The White House is now openly pushing for replacing Egypt President Hosni Mubarak with a temporary caretaker government that includes the military and is applauding a decision by Mubarak’s son to step down as head of the country’s ruling party.

But a senior administration official said those steps weren’t enough - and suggested that Mubarak needs to take “additional steps” to quell the chaos in the streets of Cairo, which is threatening to sink Egypt’s already foundering economy.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, speaking to a conference of allies in Munich, Germany, on Saturday, expressed support for a transition effort led by the country’s vice president, Gen. Omar Suleiman - and said it was vital for Suleiman to reach out to all opposition groups, including the banned Muslim Brotherhood.

“There are certain things that have to be done in order to prepare” for open elections, Clinton told European leaders.

And in another signal that the administration sees Suleiman as key to resolving the crisis, the White House said Vice President Biden spoke with Suleiman on Saturday about “progress in beginning credible, inclusive negotiations for Egypt’s transition to a democratic government to address the aspirations of the Egyptian people.”

“one must also ask, why didn’t the Iranian people get this kind of aggressive support from an American President...?”

It’s obvious - because a) he’s not an American President and b) they were revolting against an enemy of the U.S., not one of its allies.

With BHO it’s now Bizarro World.

When you start trying to overthrow allied governments, sometimes there are unforeseen consequences.

Now all our allies are on notice that the US has turned on them. That includes London and Israel as well as our bad friends like Egypt and Saudi Arabia, and our semi-bad friends like Jordan. Iraq, Karzai, they are also forewarned that a new power is in DC that is not to be trusted. They will all have to make new arrangements until all this blows over. Once they figure out that this isn’t just another one of Washington’s crazy ideas, that this is a new hostile force in power, you will see things shift in ways we may not foresee.

Silently move the force near Eygpt, couple of flat tops and of course the marines. War on terrorism if they officially ask for US intervention. Dangeruous world we live in.

Of course things are lining up for that, but God has known to slow things down as well, nothing will happen before it’s time....but the pace this is moving tells me He has lifted His hand and allowing man to take the reins for a time. There are many nations moving now as the USA has lost so much of it’s credibility with other nations and seen as wekk. Obama can only play now in such a fashion as to be re-elected rather than for the welfare or concern about the Egyptians or any other country for that matter. He really ahs no clue how to handle the position He holds other than for his own purposes...and even that He is doing poorly in.

Well we do have Marines already over their...to what extent I cannot say. And I understand ships as well off the coasts ready if necessary to intervein.....but then other nations too are positioning themsleves worldwide.

If it wasn’t for the Suez province and the canal, then who would care?

It’s obvious - because a) he’s not an American President and b) they were revolting against an enemy of the U.S., not one of its allies

Therefore, you have to wonder: Is it just incompetence? Or is it intentional? Is it benign bumbling? Or is it malign maneuvering?

And, by the same token, is he operating on his own...or under instruction?

These are two vital questions that desperately need answers...

We’d still have to care because there is more at stake here than the canal. Iran/Syrian push to flank Saudi and the resources there and throughout the ME. is in full throttlel right now....and why if the Brotherhood gets in will cause great problems. It is vital the right individuals are positioned in the Egyptian administration.

This is why Jordon is attempting to stay ahead of the domino affect whcih could easily come pending the outcome of Egypt. Heck even Italy is now protesting their Leader to step down...Algeria and Liyia protests as well. And others.

My concern is if too many nations leaders step down or are in turmoil the world is then left wide open for a one world dictator to step up to calm it all...and the nations will be in such dier straits they’ll accept anyone who can take the pressures off.....it seems possible things could shape up as that if things continue as we see them beginning to....just pray it doesn’t go that far until the time it is ment to be so..

"When did Mr. Barack Hussein Muhammed Obama become pharaoh?"

Perhaps, Barak Hussein bin Obama al-Kenyata's public utterances are campaign rhetoric.

Perhaps, he knows he is not calling the shots in Egypt.

This is of course just my own black helicopter opinion which you can take for what its worth.

He’s a puppet president. He doesn’t show up for meetings. He doesn’t govern. He is a face and a voice but others write the words. He’s got a script to read and a role to play.

They keep saying that he’s bored with being president, and the reason is that he isn’t president. The same people who maneuvered him into power are the same people who are trying to maneuver Baradei into power in Egypt. They’ve been at work there for several years planning this, an alphabet soup of organizations that are similar to the alphabet soup of organizations that put Obama into power here, and were busily writing our laws until they lost congress.

I think you’re right in that respect. However we have a military force that has yet to be seen in what it can really do if their hands are untied, and I think nations know this could happen if they push the envelope too far with us. So they will give Bo the coutesey of hearing him just the same and may even allow a bit of glory given to his “help” for a time.

In my opinion other nations “play” with this administration. Unfortunately while they aline themselves for powerful positions in the longer haul when it will not matter one way or the other what our Country thinks.

Though that is true God expects man to co-operate with Him and not just stand by for a genie to come out of a bottle. Keeping in mind that other countries do not for the most part seek God in their decisions.... and that is the stage we are on...and why the battle for control of power.

I did not see where he was sending marines in. Was that posted on another thread or did you hear it on the news?

“Now all our allies are on notice that the US has turned on them.”

I just pray that at least some of them realize that BHO doesn’t speak for the American people, that millions of us didn’t vote for him and millions more won’t vote for him in ‘12.

It makes me sick how often he’s bashed Bush, saying he’s “restoring our image in the world” after Bush “destroyed it”. Virtually all the aforementioned countries, friends and enemies alike, respected (or feared) GW. Now our friends feel hurt, betrayed and afraid, while our enemies are laughing and emboldened.

Huckabee and Jon Voigt have been in Israel the last few days, not only talking with the people but also meeting with Bibi Netanyahu, who looked so different in these photos vs. all the ones of his meetings with BHO. It was obvious he was warm, relaxed and among real friends.

Wouldn’t you love to have been a fly on the wall of this get-together? We all know how outspoken Jon Voigt is about BHO :-))) I’m sure he and the Huckster tried to offset as much damage as possible done by the Charlatan in Chief.
