Paul Krugman Blames Egypt Crisis On Global Warming
Newsbusters ^ | 7 Feb 2011 | Noel Sheppard

For the second time in eight days, a prominent liberal has blamed the developing crisis in Egypt on global warming.

Following in the footsteps of climate alarmist extraordinaire Joe Romm Monday was New York Times columnist Paul Krugman:

We’re in the midst of a global food crisis — the second in three years. World food prices hit a record in January, driven by huge increases in the prices of wheat, corn, sugar and oils. These soaring prices have had only a modest effect on U.S. inflation, which is still low by historical standards, but they’re having a brutal impact on the world’s poor, who spend much if not most of their income on basic foodstuffs.

The consequences of this food crisis go far beyond economics. After all, the big question about uprisings against corrupt and oppressive regimes in the Middle East isn’t so much why they’re happening as why they’re happening now. [...]

While several factors have contributed to soaring food prices, what really stands out is the extent to which severe weather events have disrupted agricultural production. And these severe weather events are exactly the kind of thing we’d expect to see as rising concentrations of greenhouse gases change our climate — which means that the current food price surge may be just the beginning.

Have food prices really soared?

I think Global Warming is responsible for making liberals more stupid than they were before.

These ecowacko-leftists nuts have actually accomplished the impossible: They make Islamo-fascists seem open-minded by comparison.

Mubarak has been the ruler of Egypt for over thirty years. Imagine the riots in the U.S.A. if say Jimmy Carter was our ruler for that long?

Don’t be silly. It’s Sarah Palin’s fault.

What happened to the usual excuse - you know, joblessness and lack of hope and opportunity?

I guess nobody told this guy that ‘global warming’ has been discredited long ago.

He’s absolutely right. The hysteria over global warming has shunted consumption of food stocks toward ethanol production, as was discussed here many days ago.

Do you really expect Krugman to place the blame directly at the feet of who is really responsible? Obummers rudderless foreign policy with a hint of pro-muslim sensibilities is the problem. He might as well have blamed Martians. It would have the same credibility. Can someone direct me to where Krugman has ever been correct about anything?

You know he is right. If only Egypt had several feet of new snow on the ground it would be much harder to get to the protests.

What food crisis.

Don’t Americans pay farmers not to grow foods?
Isn’t America using Corn for Fuel?

Certainly food prices are going up.
Our dollar is worth less and less thanks to QE.
Making gas from Food runs up the cost of grain
When the cost of grain goes up the cost of meat goes up(what do you think they feed all those cows and chickens).
They won’t allow the San Joaquin Valley in Claifornia to grow food because of a snail or fish or some stupid azzed thing. They are turning that bak into a desert.

Don’t tell me about a food crisis when I know what they are doing. It’s BS.

Only a liberal would be ignorant enough to believe that diverting enormous amounts of CORN to make ethanol, would have no effect on the price or availability of food!

CO2 is plant food.

The food shortage is basically being blamed on the over-abundance of plant food.

(Close shot: tumblindice as seen over her shoulder. His eyes narrow.)

td: What’s the matter, Pat? What’s going on?
(Reverse angle looking toward her. Her lips tremble.)
Pat: I...I finally deciphered their language. All of it. I read their book.
(Close shot: a suspended speaker overhead. A Kanamit’s metallic voice rings out.)
Kanamit’s voice: Please move ahead, white-bread. You’re holding up our departure for Egypt. Kindly move ahead.

(Cut to: Two-shot td and Pat)

td: Well?
Pat: Mr. Dice...Mr. Dice, the first page is just a collection of English words with their own translation. But the rest of the book...the rest of the book—It’s a cookbook!

td: “Holy smoke! Krugman was right!”

So “Global Warming” is responsible for the unrest in Egypt? It must be a new CIA code name for Medea Benjamin and Code Pink.

The big global warming advocates are all getting money for promoting this scam...if we were to have access to Krugman’s finances I would guess that part of his inexplicable love for global warming and China come from dollars in his pocket. It is the ideology of greed, not stupidity. The people who have become acolytes and followers of Gore and Krugman and Immelt are skeptical of religion but have swallowed this global warming con game hook, line and sinker. Krugman is dishonest and dangerous and conniving, but I doubt he believes much of anything he writes. He is making a living, if the schmucks he is writing for want to believe him, that isn't his problem.

If I were to be in the presence of a liberal who made such a ludicrous statement, I would not be able to keep from laughing. How can they say this crap with a straight face?

I’m surprised that Krugman hasn’t explained that Sarah Palin is caused by Globull Warming. Or did I just miss it?

It is caused by Ben Bernake’s printing press which has caused global inflation. Food prices are sky rocketing. It is coming back to America soon.

Obama is Mugabe. ALL of TV loves him.
