I gotta tell you I about had an infarction when I read the original posting. Part of it was the e-mail a friend of mine showed me from her mother who lives in NM. The mother was griping about the cold & power outages and, being a great blindered lefty, BLAMING HER COLD CONDO IN TAOS ON GOVERNOR SUSANA-—who has been in power, what, all of a month...sheesh...

On the other hand, Governor Martinez is not happy with the gas company:
Gov. Susana Martinez sat down with New Mexico Gas Company executives within the last hour to discuss the natural gas crisis. If her recent remarks to the media are any indication, the first-term Republican governor could have some harsh words about the company's response to the situation.
Following her remarks to a cultural gathering in the Capitol rotunda, Martinez told reporters Gas Co. executives had failed to deliver on a promise to have service restored by Sunday evening.

Now, I don't know the mechanics of NMNG's distribution system, nor that of any other gas company - but I never heard of a gas co running out of gas before.
