Palin trails Obama in red Tennessee
Politico ^ | 2/7/11 | Maggie Haberman

Sarah Palin's big problems among the GOP faithful are on clear display in a new poll that shows large numbers of Republicans aren’t sure about her and the tea party darling trails President Barack Obama in a head-to-head matchup in Tennessee — even with the president's job approval numbers running low in the state.

The poll in the solidly red state where she and McCain crushed Obama by 15 points two years ago is a warning bell that Palin, despite her following and appeal to conservatives, remains fairly radioactive to some Republican voters, who are far from convinced she can win in 2012.

The good news is that Obama is only at 42%. A solid conservative candidate will crush the boy marxist.

It will come down to Palin or Obama

These people need a hard lesson. maybe hyperinflation and a dust bowl with food rationing would teach the people in this poll their lesson.

This is more proof of global warming, I notice a strong correlation between historical global temperature records and these polls.

Deniers need to stop it, it is settled science that everyone hates Sarah. /Sarc

Her poll numbers are really pitiful. It'd be 1964 all over again.

Run DeMint, run!

I would love to see the methodology of this poll. I don’t believe it for a second, except for Memphis and parts of Nashville going for Boy Blunder Palin would easily win.

"Obama's support was strongest among black respondents, 80 percent of whom said they would vote for him,"

That's interesting, especially considering Obama received over 95% of the black vote in the election.

I love the uncommitted style of writing. Palin is “fairly” radioactive to “some” voters. Doesn’t read like a strong news article, just a weak opinion piece.

Tennessee is stupid.

Well, not all of it thank you very much. We just have a gaggle of libtards around the capitol and over Memphis way that keep screwing up the polls.....

Red TN, now that’s a laugh. Its my observation the people of TN are very conservative when it comes to paying taxes but very liberal when they’re on the receiving end of govt $. In their ‘favor’ they’re no different than the rest of the country.

That’s what I’ve been saying. Palin has the right stand on the issues, but the media will do to Palin what they did to Goldwater in ‘64, but on steroids. Obama won’t be running against Palin, he’ll be running against a media-generated caricature of Palin, and the sheeple will buy it, just like they did LBJ’s line of BS in ‘64.

How far does our county have to fall before a patriot like Sarah Palin can get elected ?

thats what scares me.. what will it take..

Unimpressive survey. It takes 1,000 people to make a significant sample within 2-3% of reliability. No serious statistician would give this sampling an ounce of consideration. Nashville is more liberal in thought, and Vanderbilt is centered there. This is propaganda.

FR deserves better than this type of nonsense.

I know, just kidding.

What I meant to say is that TN is stupid IF this poll is accurate.
