Obama to CEOs: Ask what you can do for America

WASHINGTON – Echoing John F. Kennedy, President Barack Obama prodded business leaders Monday to "ask yourselves what you can do for America," not just for company bottom lines, even as he sought to smooth his uneasy relations with the nation's corporate executives.

Speaking to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the president urged the business community to help accelerate the slow economic recovery by increasing hiring and unleashing some of the $2 trillion piling up on their balance sheets.

"I want to encourage you to get in the game," Obama said.

He enumerated new efforts by his administration to improve the nation's business infrastructure, spend more to support entrepreneurs and foster greater innovation. He vowed to address "a burdensome corporate tax code," and go after "unnecessary and outdated regulations."

But to a polite, subdued audience of about 200 he also offered a stout defense of health care and financial regulation overhauls — two signature administration initiatives that caused some of the most rancorous disputes with the Chamber last year.

Obama channels Lincoln, co-opts Reagan and quotes Kennedy. Has he ever had an original thought in his life? I guess when you’re a stranger in a foreign land you have to copy the natives.

Here is one business owner who says, “Shove that up your ____ with a red hot poker.”

I’ll spend what money we have when I need to and when I feel like the return merits the risk. I will not spend into an unknown and capriciously changing busniess climate.

Stuff it up your ___ Barry Boy.

Clearly, he doesn't know what he's talking about. But we knew that. Thanks raybbr.

There is no greater act that they can do to help America than to do their best for their companies’ bottom lines... anything else they do simply distracts from their primary, and crucially important, role in our economy... which is probably the precise reason Obama wants them thinking about other things.

A few notes on the article:

It mentions that the Bamster needs the centrist cloak to get re-elected. It also mentions that the Chamber wants to push Republicans on immigration laws. Guess which way the Chamber wants to push them. They also want more "infrastructure" spending.

Here's the quote I found most troubling:

The Chamber can also act as Republican ballast against the influence of the conservative tea party movement.

My read on this is the Chamber is really more along the lines of Bush and Rockefeller Republicans. Obama is doing what he's always done. He's saying what's necessary at the time, and his statements are void as soon as they leave his lips.

They can do the most good for the country by looking after the interests of their shareholders.

Obama thinks they are social agencies to be bullied by community organizers.

...ask yourselves what you can do for America...

I realize CEOs and such tend to be big thinkers, "idea people" and such. They're supposed to delegate the details and implementation. So in the spirit of being a good company man, let me offer the CEOs a few ideas of what they can do for America.

Fund a coalition to demand legal proof of hussein obama's eligibility to be President.

Privately fund a border fence. These socialist traitors to America in DC aren't going to do it.

Back conservative, free-enterprise and liberty minded candidates.

Get involved in government. I know, you've got a business to run, but good old Uncle Sam is jumping into the middle of your shi...er "stuff" ... return the favor.

Start a "made in America, by Americans, for Americans" campaign for your product(s) and/or service(s). I guarantee you it will be well received.

Don't back any leftist Hollywood (I know that's redundant) America-hating drivel in any media.

Don't advertise during TV shows or on TV networks or radio stations that promote the leftist agenda.

Start a "no illegals here" campaign within your company. Stand with your employees, submit the same proof of citizenship as you demand of your employees. Get all of management to do the same.

Start using vendors and suppliers that implement the same campaign.

Within your company promote patriotism and good citizenship. Provide a means to teach your employees the real rewards of personal, economic, and political liberty.

Fly the flag at at all your facilities. Respect it, and fly it in accordance with the rules and protocols for displaying it.

Lead by example, restore pride in America, in our Culture, and the belief in American exceptionalism. Don't ever apologize for being American.

In other words CEOs, if you want the executive brief version of what you can do for America: be the anti-obama.
