Halle Berry has said she considers her daughter Nahla, who is at the centre of a bitter custody battle, to be 'black'.
Her comment emerged a week after the fight between Berry and her ex boyfriend Gabriel Aubry over the two-year-old turned ugly.

Wow, she ‘had’ to. I bet that makes her Mom feel appreciated. Halle has issues with men (can’t keep one) and her own sense of self. One should not have to decide on a race. It isn’t an either / or situation unless there are gains to be realized.
Halle must have decided it was in her bests interests to be a beautiful black woman rather than a beautiful white woman.
So being a slut isn’t so sexy afterall.

Not only is she a racist, she’s an idiot. Her daughter is about as black as I am. (I’m Irish and German) and I see she likes white men, and chose one to father her daughter, what does she expect from the child? A black child from a white man and half white mother?? Really?
It’s about “victimhood”.
Which color best represents “victimhood”, white or black? Which color gets more sympathy in court cases?

Here in the South, there used to be pages and pages of very detailed laws relating to people of “mixed” heritage.
The consignment of these statutes to the ash-heap of history was viewed as a great stride forward during the Civil Rights struggle of the mid-20th Century.
Interesting that this line thinking is slowly re-emerging among those who so greatly deplored it not that long ago.

If Halle Berry weren’t half-black, she never would have won her Affirmative Action Oscar.
let me explain to all on this thread why she sees her self as “black”. From the moment she walked out her front door she was identified as black, when she was in elementary school she was “black”, she was “black” in high school. Thousands of moments taught her who others thought she was. Her culture labeled her and she accepted/acknowledged/embraced the label. If she passed you in the grocery store you would think “wow, that is a beautiful black women”.
As far as her daughter, I would suppose like all mothers, she wants her child to be what she is.
What superficial nonsense. Who the heck cares what color she is. She’s a kid who needs to be nurtured, loved and cherished.
One of my daughters works in the admissions office of a fairly large university. She says when an app comes in and they evaluate for ethnicity the other girls who are black have a habit of saying “any black is all black”. With all this nonsense they’re doing one hell of a job of creating racists.
