Halle Berry has said she considers her daughter Nahla, who is at the centre of a bitter custody battle, to be 'black'.
Her comment emerged a week after the fight between Berry and her ex boyfriend Gabriel Aubry over the two-year-old turned ugly.

I was astonished by that same fact. The laws that used to say ONE DROP of black blood made one black were struck down and considered racist. NOW people like Berry denounce half of their blood line and INSIST that a pale skinned, blonde haired child is black if there is any percentage of black blood? It would be funny if it were not so sad.
Why is she labeling her daughter? Will she consider the daughter a racist if, when she’s old enough to decide what she considers herself, she considers herself white?
Is there some unwritten rule that says she MUST be black if there is that ‘one drop’?

One hopes that it will get better with time, but I don't know.... there's still a heck of a lot of history to work through.
During the years of racial oppression in America there were various stereotypes of blacks: emotional, not able to think abstractly, impulsive and undisciplined, etc. These were used to keep blacks down.
Today various idiotic afrocentrists use exactly the same stereotypes, but claim they make blacks superior rather than inferior. The whole sun people vs. ice people nonsense.
And Halle, your baby is 1/4 black. I believe the folk down south call that a quadroon. Oh, wait, is that racist?
My guess is that Halle Berry has experienced relatively little rejection by whites in her life for being part black, and that instead her troubles with “fitting in” have come more from blacks, who are suspicious and resentful of her being part white. If this is true, then you can see why she would want her daughter to be “black”: the daughter won’t be penalized for it by white people, and it will help assuage the resentment of blacks who would otherwise completely reject her as a turncoat if she identified as “white”. So a black identity will allow her daughter to have social acceptance among both whites and blacks rather than just whites.
This kind of lunacy only occurs where the black father has abandoned the child, which creates bitter, angry, race-obsessed people like Halle Berry and Obama.
When dad sticks around the children are very different, tending to be well-adjusted and comfortable in their own shoes.
The woman is forever the victim in every single relationship she's been in. And now, she's teaching her daughter how to be a victim.
I swear I hope Gabrielle Aubrey gets custody of that child.
And Halle Berry joins the boycott list.....
She's lucky she's endowed with a certain physical appeal - however fleeting. If she had to survive on her wits and grace, she'd starve.
Well good news for her, thankfully for those genes coming from her father, she will be beautiful for a very long time.
How strange that she is an “ungrateful wench” because she just won’t see her self as white. Does that mean if she identified herself as a white woman it would denote GRATEFULNESS. You do realize the racism in your own valuation don’t you?
Halle has to believe that othrwise she is barely black herself.IIRC her Grandmoher on her father’s side is also white.That child is more than 75% white and looks it too.
Not to stick up for her but Halle is a type 1 diabetic and that is why she walked away from those accidents.

If she wants to be politically correct, she should refer to the daughter as an African-American Embryo.
