Rendells tell friends they are separating

HARRISBURG -- Their marriage survived years of speculation about Ed Rendell's never-confirmed affairs, but today -- 20 days after the former governor left office -- he and U.S. Circuit Judge Marjorie O. Rendell told friends they are separating.

The news came in a five-sentence email sent at 4:08 p.m. and signed "Ed and Midge."

The Rendells told recipients that the split is amicable, that they will remain friends and that they "will not find it awkward or uncomfortable" to be invited to the same social events.

The Rendells have been married for about 40 years.

Rendell just inked a hugh contract with Comcast for a Philly (all sports) sports show.
His old law firm just put him on. Lobbyist no doubt.

Shhh, Tom Corbitt, the new R-Gov of PA, is staying at the back-up home for the PA Gov near Ft. Indiantown Gap.
Word is the Governors mansion on Front St. in Harrisburg is so trashed it will take months to repair.
I have no clue what that means.

“...Eddie would avoid it by going through Hershey...”

So Fast Eddie WAS a regular on the Hershey Highway?

David Cohen was Ed’s Chief of Staff and mainstay. Now he’s Executive Vice President of Comcast. Probably packs more power than most company presidents.

"So Fast Eddie WAS a regular on the Hershey Highway?"

You bet he was. At least 90 mph, slowed down in town, ignored lights and township police would not see them.

BTW, there is no such thing as the Hershey Highway. It is actually RT322.

Now this may shock some people but there is no such town (legally) as Hershey. It is Derry Township.

Boy did I get off subject with that. Sorry.

No problem. I sure don’t mind the info.

That kind of thing drives me crazy though. Especially from these self-righteous lefties...remember Corzine racing through Jersey until he smashed up?

South Dakota’s former Guv Wild Bill Janklow did the same thing, only out on the country boonie gravel roads most of the time, and he hit and killed someone if I remember right...

Rendell...what a jackass...I see him on Morning Joe these days and he’s an operator from the word go, isn’t he? A guy on the make in every sense and every direction.....

cheers to ya....

My Guess tomorrows Headline in The Philadelphia Daily News Midge and Ed Breakup Message “NO HARD FEELINGS, Just Friends”

I guess this explains Fast Eddie and all his Flavian Colgan State Consultant and Environmental Hirings then Laying her off as a Daily news Editorial Board Member with Connections.

Now Flavia is Off on the LEFT Coast hiding from Eddie..

After being married for 40 years, I took a careful look at my wife one day and said ..

“Forty years ago we had a cheap house, a junk car, slept on a sofa bed and watched
a 10-inch black and white TV, but I got to sleep every night with a hot 23-year-old girl.

Now ... I have a $500,000.00 home, a $50,000.00 car, a nice big bed and a large screen TV,
but I’m sleeping with a 63-year-old woman. It seems to me that you’re not holding up your side of things.”

My wife is a very reasonable woman.
She told me to go out and find a hot 23-year-old girl and she would make sure that
I would once again be living in a cheap house, driving a junk car, sleeping on a sofa
bed and watching a 10-inch black and white TV.

Aren’t older women great? They really know how to solve an old guy’s problems.

Fast Eddy was at one point rumored to be the notorious Client X, an unnamed fellow visitor to the same madam who had eased Governor Spitzer’s stresses - dropped out of the news eventually, but if true the separation isn’t any surprise.....

For months, rumors had been circulating about a certain woman. Which is nothing new. This magazine, in fact, has written about Rendell’s alleged womanizing. Back in 1997, when the rumor mill decreed things had gotten so bad that Ed and Midge Rendell were getting a divorce, Midge, a federal judge, addressed the gossip. “Puhleeze, would you go over and check the courthouse?” she practically begged a reporter. “It’s so false. … It’s just ridiculous.”

In 2000, State House Democratic leader Bill DeWeese ranted loudly to a reporter in a hotel bar that “Ed Rendell has been f*cking my wife!,” who at the time was a comely blond lobbyist, Holly Kinser, frequently seen with Rendell. The accusation, since recanted by DeWeese, was denied by Kinser and Rendell; his political career—and the Rendells’ marriage — kept rolling along.

This latest rumor, though, did sound different: Last year, the Governor dropped 60 pounds. There was talk of another blonde. A former beauty pageant winner. One who works for the state, in Harrisburg — someone who works for him, in other words, which could take the ethical complications beyond the bedroom. Ed, so the story went, had fallen hard — and was dropping broad hints to that effect himself.

Then, there she was, paraded into the Famous by Rendell: Dr. Kirstin Snow — as Rendell is always careful to introduce her.

Rush and Malloy item detailing the tales of gubernatorial sex provided by a hooker named “Annie,” who also serviced Eliot Spitzer back in the day. She says that the first time she met the mystery governor was on a date with a client named “Michael”:

“We went to a restaurant where the governor was dining at another table with two or three other men. Michael said the governor was a client of his. He introduced me to him. I thought it was odd that he’d introduce someone he’d hired, but the governor was very gracious. It was a brief meeting. Later, Michael and I went to an apartment our agency kept. We had sex.

“A couple of days later, Michael booked another appointment. He was supposed to come to the same apartment. I buzzed him in. When I opened the door, it wasn’t Michael. It was the governor. He was smiling. I knew what was happening. I was okay with it.

“He was a very standard client. He didn’t take the full hour. There was no exchange of money. Michael handled the payment.

“I had two more dates with the governor. Never in public. Always for just an hour, around dinner time. He’d arrive at the apartment in a suit. I never had a problem with him, like I did with Spitzer. He was always nice. There wasn’t a lot of conversation. It wasn’t a girlfriend experience, but he was relaxed. He was very appreciative, like I was giving him a sort of affection he wasn’t getting elsewhere. Later I found out he was married. His wife is quite prominent in her own right.”

Even worse, he may have accepted sex with a prostitute as a gift from a lobbyist. Now, taking into consideration what we’ve learned from “Annie,” that the mystery governor is a man who is married to a “prominent” woman, let’s take a few educated guesses as to who this may be and assign some Vegas-style odds as we go.

The email said, “Dear friends, we wanted to let you know that we have decided to embark upon this next phase of our lives by living separately,” the e-mail said. “This has been a difficult decision, but we both believe it is the right thing to do. Our parting is amicable, and we will remain friends and continue to be active in our community, sometimes together, sometimes separately.”

Few who knew Rendell were surprised since he’s been routinely spotted out with his girlfriend Kirsten Snow for sometime now.

Snow has been divorced twice and is a former Miss Pennsylvania as well as Mrs. Pennsylvania.

Rumors regarding Ed Rendell’s infidelity have been circulating for years including back when he was still mayor of Philadelphia.

“He may have decided to hang on until the end of his term” before making an announcement because he would not be subject to as much questioning about it, said Jack Treadway, former political science professor at Kutztown University. “It would have been a much bigger issue if he were still governor.”

Since he left office Jan. 18, Rendell, 67, embarked on a career as a TV political analyst, adviser to an investment bank and sports columnist, and returned to his old law firm. Marjorie Rendell is a 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals judge, based in Philadelphia, where her husband was mayor.

Last month, NBC announced Ed Rendell would work as an analyst for NBC News and MSNBC. He rejoined the Philadelphia law firm Ballard Spahr. The sports column is for the Daily News.

Ed Rendell, ex-mayor, ex-governor, has joined the investment bank Greenhill & Co. as a “senior adviser.”

Greenhill boss Scott Bok wants Rendell to help his New York Stock Exchange-listed investment bank buy highways and other public property from cities and states, lease or sell them to private investors, and pocket the fees.
