“A dingo took my Falklands!”
Well I can see it’s obviously going to be a sympathetic portrayal. /s
Amazing.
Streep is one of the few actresses in Hollywood with real talent. Let’s hope the script isn’t crap.
Wow. That’s amazing.
Streep isn’t worthy of sweeping Margaret Thatcher’s front stoop. Dispicable.
Really, in what show does she show talent?
It could go either way, they could portray Lady Thatcher as crazy or as an idiot. My guess is that they’ll mix the two, and then throw in some sort of personality disorder or early onset Alzheimer’s as well.
Amazing is right! I’m trying to figure out why she doesn’t look quite right but she’s got the look so close that I can’t put my finger on it. I’d need side by side pictures.
Streep is faaaaaaaaaaaar-left. Let’s hope she acts.
I couldn't agree with you more. What incredible hubris to think she could portray a giant like Thatcher. Streep excels at playing petty, insignificant women--possibly because she is one.
Who is producing and writing the movie?
Yes,the resemblance is striking, but I assure you it won’t be an honest portrayal. Like movies about Nixon, Reagan, etc... the writers/directors will write-in strange personality traits and over-simplify or distort Thatcher’s reasoning behind major policy decisions.
And who will be playing Reagan?
She’s a far-left, Bush-hating, anti-GOP kook. Just like matt damon, I cant stand her.
Early reports from people who are/were familiar with the script, decribe the movie as a 1st person narrative, told from Thatcher's perspective as she suffers from dementia. Apparently, much of the story surrounds her struggling with her own "regrets" about her past life.
The Thatcher family is said to be furious, not only because of the alleged "dementia" aspect, but because all of these "regrets" told in a 1st person narrative are entirely fictionalized - in other words, they are all a fabrication born from the screenwriter's imagination.
How do you think something like that is going to turn out?
Are you serious? While her politics may be deplorable, she’s one of the few in Hollywood who can actually become the character she plays. Sixteen Oscar nominations, two wins.
Maybe she will learn something for a change.
“Streep isnt worthy of sweeping Margaret Thatchers front stoop. Dispicable.”
I completely agree . . . other than her stilted, phony Eastern European accent that Hollyweird so loves, I’m not sure what the big deal is with her. Her Hollyweird-leftist leanings have completely soured me on anything she does.
