Lautenberg to Pro-Life Republicans: 'Don’t Go Near My Daughters'
CNS News ^ | February 08, 2011 | Nicholas Ballasy

“If they want to make a choice, that’s up to them and it’s with the advice of a doctor and loving parents and a loving family.”

(CNSNews.com) - In expressing opposition to the House Republicans' "No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act," Senator Frank Lautenberg (D-N.J.) said politicians should not interfere with his family’s health and well-being. He also had a message for the GOP, saying, “I won’t attempt to voice my views on your family and let my family alone. Don’t go near my daughters.”

“I’m experienced. I’m the proud father of three daughters, two more that my wife brought to our marriage, six granddaughters. My wife brought two more to the marriage. So we got a full house of healthy and well-being young women. I don’t want politicians making decisions for them when it comes to their health and well being,” said Lautenberg on Capitol Hill.

He was joined by other Democratic senators at a press conference held to "express their opposition to legislation being pushed by House Republicans this week that would endanger women's health by severely limiting their access to affordable health care and reproductive health services."

Lautenberg continued, “I call on my colleagues in the House. Do as you wish with your family. Tell your daughters, tell your wife, you do that. That’s the wonderful part about America. It’s choice. It’s choice and there should be no force used here but don’t interfere with my family’s well being.”

“I won’t attempt to voice my views on your family and let my family alone," he said. "Don’t go near my daughters. If they want to make a choice, that’s up to them and it’s with the advice of a doctor and loving parents and a loving family. So we’ve got to strike down this outrageous assault on women's rights."

The focus of the Democrats’ criticism is the “No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act,” sponsored by Rep. Chris Smith (R-N.J.). The legislation would prohibit “the expenditure of funds authorized or appropriated by federal law or funds in any trust fund to which funds are authorized or appropriated by federal law (federal funds) for any abortion. Prohibits federal funds from being used for any health benefits coverage that includes coverage of abortion.” It would also re-install a ban on D.C. abortion funding.

Lautenberg, who appeared with Sens. Patty Murray (D-Wash.), Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.), Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) and Al Franken (D-Minn.) at the press conference, also said the GOP’s efforts to limit access to abortion services reminds him of a Third World country.

“If they had their way, the reproductive rights of American women would be tossed away and it sounds to me like a Third World country that’s requiring women to wear head shawls to cover their faces even if they don’t want to do it," said Lautenberg. "This is America. It’s not one of the third world countries that we see these tragic decisions hoisted upon the women."

Only choice is for the mother.

She had the choice, to engage or to not engage in the activity that created new life. It should not be her choice to destroy it.

Lautenberg actually has daughters under 50. I looked it up yesterday and if I recall correctly the daughters are now aged 47, 52, and 56.

Lautenberg is 87 years old.

Heh, I'm thinking of that scene in Smokey and the Bandit:

"I'm telling you for the last time... I have my young son in the car and I don't wanna hear that kind of language!"

Senator Lautenberg needs to have retired a long time ago. I don’t want him near my daughters. If he feels this way I hope he makes it clear on zerocare issues. I don’t want my daughters going without mammograms etc. I wish this old man would just retire, he falls under my too old list & needs to be checked for dementia etc.

Before you waste time on a dementia test check for a pulse.

This is another example of how insidious are the lies about abortion, that this man thinks abortion is a loving choice for his daughters to make and her family to accept and condone.

Could he say this after seeing a 3D or 4D sonogram of one of his grandchildren? If he could, he is truly lost.

Too many people think of abortion as an abstract choice and not as the murder of an innocent human.

I've attended more "office" lunches and dinners with 20 or more participants than I can count. By choice, I drank water and ate lightly. Others "pigged out" and consumed several alcoholic drinks.

The waiter was usually told, "bring one check, and we'll divvy it up ourselves" -- so the total check was divided by the number of attendees.

My "share" frequently came out way over twice the cost of what I'd consumed. So. I started taking the radical step of asking the waiter to bring the bar bill separately.

Often, the bar bill was higher than the food bill -- and when I said "count me out of the bar bill participants", the libs often squealed at how "unfair" that was!

~~~~~~~~~~
I wouldn't pay for Lautenberg's booze; why should I pay for his daughters' abortions?
(I haven't yet figured out how to avoid being taxed for Lautenberg's -- and others' -- gluttony...)
~~~~~~~~~~

When I finally started asking the waiter to bring me a separate check -- and tipping handsomely for the privilege, I invariably still came out 'way ahead. And when the office libs called me "cheap", my response was, "Not so; I simply refuse to participate in Socialism when I can avoid it."

There is something fundamentally wrong with a parent who does not care if his daughters and granddaughters get abortions.

Agreed!
I wonder what Lautenberg would say to Kermit Gosnell about his daughters?

Sadly, we are seeing more parents/grandparents pressuring for the abortions of their prosperity. Many sidewalk counselors share accounts of girls being dragged kicking and screaming into abortion facilities by their own parents. One baby was saved in Austin recently. The authorities were called and through the Texas Justice Foundation, letters were given to the parents warning about coercing an abortion and then an injunction was placed.

It did save the life of THAT baby!

He really retired a long time ago, anything after that is just a long “Weekend at Bernies” for the Dems.

Lautenberg to Pro-Life Republicans: ‘Don’t Go Near My Daughters’...but hey, if some abortionist wants to rip apart my grandchildren, I’m okay with it.

Lautenberg's daughters are what, 50? 60? I don't think it's an issue.

An old man demanding that baby killing be legal is the very personification of evil.

“I won’t attempt to voice my views on your family and let my family alone. Don’t go near my daughters.”

Listening to the indignant cries of wrath from a thief about to be denied access to my pockets makes it seem like this is bizarro world -such is the leftist mindset.

As long as your daughters do not stick their hands in my pockets looking for abortion 'family planning' monies I see no problems...
