WASHINGTON — Whites continued to decline as a share of the American population in 2009, and they now represent less than half of all 3-year-olds, according to a Brookings Institution analysis of census data released Monday.
The country’s young population is more diverse than ever, with whites now in the minority in nursery schools, preschools and kindergartens in eight states — Arizona, California, Florida, Hawaii, Mississippi, Nevada, New Mexico and Texas — and the District of Columbia, according to William H. Frey, a demographer at Brookings. That was up from six states in 2000.
“We are on our way to having a majority of minority students in U.S. schools,” Mr. Frey said.
Nationally, whites accounted for 58.8 percent of all school enrollment in 2009, Mr. Frey said, citing the new data, which measured enrollment from preschool to graduate school as of October 2009. That was down from 64.6 percent in 2000, a decline that came with falling birthrates as the white population aged.
Population growth has come instead from Hispanics, blacks and Asians, whose children represent ever larger shares of the school population. Twenty-three percent of children in kindergarten were Hispanic in 2009, up from 18 percent in 2000 and 10 percent in 1989. Hispanics now account for nearly a fifth of all enrollment from nursery school through college, Mr. Frey said.

NO, mexicans have a higher birthrate in America than at home.
This is very troubling. Race may not matter, but culture does. Asians aside, non-whites in America hail from failed, cultures, or , in the case of African Americans, a dysfunctional internal subculture. “Back in the day”, when all were expected to adapt the standards of the prevailing Anglo-culture, this would not have been such a problem. But PC multiculturalism has encouraged balkanized non-whites to maintain and even celebrate their failed, dysfunctional, and inferior cultures. For example, just look at the places in the world where Spanish is the prevailing tongue. An appalling prospect. I fear for our children and grandchildren.
Just to add your then and now list. My parents new home was around S12K in 1962. Today in property taxes alone I could buy one of those houses every 3 years with cash left over.

Do you really think a demographically reconstructed America is going to honor the Bill of Rights and US Constitution? Why would they honor a bunch of old white protestants?

That was the game plan. You can’t destroy America militarily, financially or morally (up for debate). But what you can do is replace the current population with other people so you get different results. Too many Christians? Fine, import people from other religions. Too many right wing, conservative types? Fine. Import millions of fast-breeding people from dictatorship/socialist countries. Presto - you’ve changed the politics and culture.
For instance, take English people out of England and put them somewhere else and what do you get? America. Canada. New Zealand. Australia. Hong Kong. (I’m Czech, but let’s face it all we’d do if we demographically overtook you was give you good beer and a factory job.)
Sure, but where are the Republicans on this? All I ever hear from them is talk about illegal immigration, and even that is a very new phenomenon. Who is talking about legal immigration?

The trend is a tendency toward the Caucasians of developed nations to disappear.
As Mark Steyn points out in “America Alone”, Europeans are falling far short of reproducing their populations. In two or three more generations there won’t be any Germans.
Japan is following that trend - someone facetiously said they might replace the Japanese people with Japanese robots.
America is more slowly following along that route - still reproducing its population.
No - 100 years from now there still will be a Japan. Sure their population is falling fast, but so what? Big deal if they end up with just 30 million people. They’re not stupid enough to demographically replace their population. They will likely be the remaining global super-power.
Babies are the new warfare. Me having more babies than you and entering your country will outdo whatever fancy weapon system you’ve built. Babies beat bombs.
So 100 years from now, the US will resemble a South American dump and Europe will look like a war zone in Lebanon. Pathetic.
China, Japan and India. That’s the future. Maybe, maybe Russia as they’re interested in boosting Russian birthrates and are having success. Sad but true.
