Darius and I were speculating about the possibilty that Obama is running open loop on his comments. I think this tends to confirm it.

If the ambassador is saying this, it says to me that Obama's public utterances about Egypt's gov't, are being made without any prior communication to the Egyptian gov't through normal diplomatic channels.
