GoProud Dissent Among the Ranks
Red State ^ | Feb 11, 2011 | Ben Howe

There appears to be more fallout as a result of the recent remarks made by GoProud Chairman Chris Barron in which he referred to ACU Foundation Chairman Cleta Mitchell as a “nasty bigot.” Barron later apologized for the remark after raising the ire of newly selected ACU chair Al Cardenas who indicated the possibility that the organization may distance themselves from GoProud.

Said Cardenas:

“I have been disappointed with their website and their quotes in the media, taunting organizations that are respected in our movement and part of our movement, and that’s not acceptable. And that puts them in a difficult light in terms of how I view things.”

It now appears that members from within GoProud have also found disagreement with Barron in a statement posted at the blog of GoProud Treasurer Bruce Carroll.

>> blah, blah, blah

Is there a shorter, more concise, less anal version of the story (yeah, I’m a neanderthal)

When we heard that Chris had called Cleta Mitchell a “nasty bigot” in a public forum, Bruce and I each contacted the other to express his concerns. We both believe he crossed a line and have been considering for the past 24 hours how to respond. This evening (Thursday, February 10), we thought it best to post this piece. While we disagree with Cleta Mitchell on a number of issues, we believe Chris was wrong to call her a “nasty bigot” to a reporter for the Metro Weekly. This is not appropriate public discourse. We are pleased that Chris apologized for using such intemperate language and encourage him to use greater discretion in future commentary.

. . .

So they don't disagree that Mitchell is a nasty bigot, they're just sore at Barron for saying it publically.

Name calling is a characteristic of the Democrat Party, because liberals have disordered minds, and no justifiable alternate positions. Therefore GoProud needs to be disbanded, and members left to decide which party they want to support. Unjust discrimination must be avoided, but formal recognition is unacceptable IMO.

This group will not accept anything less then complete acceptance of their deviancy as normal.

It will be 'PC' thought control, while many conservatives on FR are defending them being at the meeting in the name of free speech.

This group, like every homosexual group is only for free speech when it means accepting them as normal.

The problem with GOProud isn't that its leaders descended into name calling on one occasion. The problem with GOProud is that it is part of a movement which has nothing to say except name calling. If gay activists couldn't use the word “bigot” they would be mute.

Anyone who thinks that society should accept homosexual liaisons in the same way and on the same terms that it accepts and celebrates marriage is not a conservative and doesn't belong in a conservative organization. The left is trying to degrade and destroy our culture so that it can no longer support a free and prosperous nation. That's the purpose of the “gay rights” movement. Self-described conservatives who want to participate in the left’s cultural vandalism have gone over to the enemy. They embarrass and weaken conservatives, not just when they fling the odd occasional over the top insult, but every time they open their mouths.

All the Left is trying to do here is be sure the Tea Party steps on its own johnson-so to speak.

The Left, in coordination with the rest of the Capitol Hill oligarchy, are determined to strangle this baby in its cradle.

The whole artifice of Congressional largess is dependent upon this being successful. Constitutional Government restoration
WILL NOT come from within the DC Beltway.

When conservatives comes to accept that anal sex must not be condemned, the conservative movement is over.

Fortunately that does not appear to have happened despite the best efforts of some.

Grover Norquist who has a big role in CPAC, is a Muzzie lover, which is why he wants the Muzzies in CPAC. Note below from Wiki:

“Norquist, whose wife is born Muslim, emerged as the most outspoken Republican foe of politicizing the mosque-in-Manhattan issue, saying:

“This is a distraction from a winning game plan… It is very stupid, when Republicans are poised to win an overwhelming victory in November over Democratic spending, to focus attention on this issue.”.[27]”

On the other hand, I think homosexuals who didn’t have this urge to demand approval of their lifestyle, who didn’t parade it, and kept their private business private, might find a welcome among conservatives.

Not that most would approve of the behavior.

My next door neighbors are homosexual - I think. They’ve never said so, they’re not demonstrative in public, they don’t carry or post signs, etc. They’re not “parents”, and while they spoil their dog, that’s not an uncommon failing. They’re good neighbors.

They mind their business, and I mind mine. Could we work together on political issues ? Yes, if they were on the right side.

Yes, I agree... it is the activists trying to make themselves more than equal and trying to change the norms of our society that I refer to... what they do in their bedrooms is their business... that is between them and GOD... but try to force their way of life on America and there will be trouble. It is clear they (activists) want super citizen status and power.
