TRIPOLI, Feb 13 (Reuters) - Palestinian refugees should capitalise on the wave of popular revolts in the Middle East by massing peacefully on the borders of Israel until it gives in to their demands, Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi said on Sunday.
Gaddafi is respected in many parts of the Arab world for his uncompromising criticism of Israel and Arab leaders who have dealings with the Jewish state, though some people in the region dismiss his initiatives as unrealistic.
He was giving his first major speech since a popular uprising in neighbouring Egypt forced President Hosni Mubarak to resign, an event which electrified the Arab world and prompted speculation that other Arab governments could also be toppled.
"Fleets of boats should take Palestinians ... and wait by the Palestinian shores until the problem is resolved," Gaddafi was shown saying on state television. "This is a time of popular revolutions."

He IS worried about his own tenuous grasp on power. Why do you think he’s trying to deflect attention to Israel? He doesn’t want Libya to be the next Tunisia or Egypt.

I know. Israeli Arabs (or as they call themselves now, “Palestiniansâ€)enjoy both citizenship in a Western, Democratic state with the right to vote, peacefully protest and have their own political parties. They are highly educated, (able to study at Israeli universities) without having to have any responsibilities to serve in the army. Their GDP and GNP are high, their standard of medical care and services are high and YET, they increasingly identify with Israel’s enemies to the point where they are more and more a 5th Column. So, yes, they have all the rights & privileges but increasingly behave in a seditious manner. They want their cake and eat it too! Any Israeli Jew who questions these inconsistencies are knee-jerk called, a “Racist†by the Arabs. Very convenient eh? Israeli-Arab Ministers in Parliament are the worst rabble-rousers around.If they are so Palestinian, why don’t they move to the Palestinian CONTROLLED AREAS OR GAZA FOR THAT MATTER? They know the truth, better to bitch inside Israel than have a miserable life in the Palestina Authority in in Gaza with the scum HAMAS...

very true. If people paid a bit of attention to Scripture once in a while they would realize the devastating effects on each and every nation that has tried to eliminate God’s chosen from the planet. I smell such another occurance in the next few years.
Gaddafi doesn’t want the Palestinians getting any ideas about demanding something from their Arab brothers, so he needs to keep them focused on Israel.
