'Obamacare can be killed without single Democrat vote'

While House Republicans are working hard on legislation to deprive Barack Obama of the money he needs to implement his massive health-care program, there is a way they can accomplish the same ends without a single Democrat vote and no approval by the Senate or White House, says the organizer of the "No More Red Ink" campaign.

"It's just this simple," says Joseph Farah of WND and the campaign targeting House Republicans alone to freeze the debt limit. "Republicans alone can do this. They are holding all the cards. They simply need to vote no as a bloc on raising the debt limit. At that point, the funding to implement 'Obamacare' dries up on the vine."

The campaign has already delivered 250,000 "red ink" letters to 242 House Republicans, encouraging them to defy their leadership and bring government spending and borrowing under control this year.

Shock the Washington establishment by participating in the "No More Red Ink" campaign and shut down all new plans for bailouts, "stimulus" spending and even the funding for Obamacare.

"Most people have still not figured out just how much power the Republicans have on this issue with control of just the House of Representatives," said Farah. "For some reason, House Republican leadership is determined to defy popular will and the better instincts of its own caucus to continue business-as-usual spending and borrowing in Washington. But this campaign is making a difference."

Two weeks ago, the organizer of the long-shot campaign to freeze the federal government's debt limit was not optimistic about his chances to create the biggest political earthquake to hit the nation's Capitol since Ronald Reagan's election as president.

The debt ceiling is the key to everything. Nothing will be done about spending until the GOP forces the ceiling to stay where it is.

I was really pleased and impressed when the House Republicans pushed through a flat-out obamacare repeal bill.

I honestly didn’t think they had the stones to be that honest. And, IIRC, it was the Tea Party representatives that got the ball rolling.

I have great hopes this might also happen — choke it and kill it like the tumor it is on Body Politic.

Freezing it where it is would be monumental. Everyone in Washington is terrified of the possibility of a freeze. It could bring the country down. It could crash the government. It would change everything, virtually overnight.

I'm in favor of it.

Now, reducing the debt limit would really ramp things up. We might want to take "wait and see" attitude on that particular step. Seriously.

“How do you REDUCE the debt limit?....”

One step at a time. If we can freeze the debt limit, that means balanced budgets. We can then, hopefully, work to pay the debt down.

But how do we make up for $1.5T? That’s more than twice what we spend on Social Security alone...and judging from a lot of the SCREAMERS on this site, even touching Social Security will create a revolution.

This will get interesting.

I'm not sure that we can totally eliminate the deficit in 1 year. I would be comfortable if the GOP House were to use a small debt limit increase to get agreement on the broader program. Approximately $300B-$400B increase for a year would let us gut the current deficit by more than $1 trillion. For this amount, the GOP could extract significant concessions from the Obama Administration. It would give them a card to play.

If the GOP refuses to approve ANY debt ceiling increase, ALL ramifications could be put on them. (The public is severly addicted to Fed spending and withdrawls can be painful.) By offering this ONE YEAR concession, the Dims can be made to go along with it.

What's in it for the Dims? $300-$400B in spending that they would not get to do if the GOP refused to increase the limit at all.

I just noted that the George Soro’s funded Moveon.org is advertising on Facebook for users to send messages to the Republican Senators and Congressmen to stop the defunding of NPR/PBS. The country could save a lot of money if we defunded these two biased and communist oriented leeches.

They really don’t have to DO anything.
If they simply DO NOTHING, the borrowing stops, period.......

Don’t forget, there never was a FY2011 Budget Bill.
The sorry ass dems were too scared to put one on the table to be voted on or debated in public, because it was an election year. We’ve been operating off CONTINUING RESOLUTIONS, since FY2010.....

I heard something on Rush Limbaugh on Friday where the Pubs are only going to vote this week on cutting discretionary funding in Obamacare, not mandatory funding. Something to do with rules and the part that Nazi Pelosi put in about future Congresses not being allowed to cut funding to the bill.
