Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio led a field of potential Republican Senate candidates in Arizona with 21 percent in a poll of likely GOP primary voters last week.

Rep. Jeff Flake, who announced his candidacy for the seat of retiring Senate Minority Whip Jon Kyl (R-Ariz.) on Monday, finished second with 16.8 percent in the Summit Consulting Group survey. Former Rep. J.D. Hayworth took third, with 16.6 percent. He was unsuccessful in his primary challenge to Sen. John McCain last year.

Is she saying that the whole Democrat party should not be allowed to keep and bear arms? That might be a little extreme even for me... : )

No, SHE didn't say that, I Said that! And why not? It would hopefully teach them that persecution without right of redress equals tyranny.

"Flake may be the ‘real contender’ but he’s PRO ‘IMMIGRATION REFORM’ and is rated C- by NumbersUSA"

But Flake has the backing of The Club For Growth who gives him a 100% rating.

Sympathy votes will likely give this seat to Rep Giffords. I’d be surprised if the National Party even puts any money into this race.

That's easy my friend, sympathy!.

Take a look at how many dead people have won elections over the last few cycles. Or, think about how many times some one dies and his wife who never did an political thing in he life wins the next election by a landslide.

GG is now an icon and would be elected to any thing she wants in AZ simply by saying so. If she is unable to say so, a nod will do. TRUST ME.

(I'm not being mean, just stating the condition that exists in America)

Giffords has you, along with many others, buffaloed into thinking she wants to protect the border. She is pro-amnesty. She is anti-Tea Party. Her husband and her parents blamed the Tea Party for the shootings. That tells me she’s been talking swack about the Tea Party at the family dinner table.

She tries to pretend she’s in the middle and is a conservative rat who used to be a pub, but that’s not the case. She’s as phony as a three-dollar bill. She’s not in the middle and there’s nothing conservative about her.

I don’t think it goes to her automatically. her voting record is pretty bad. But you might be onto something about her husband, though.

Joe was here in Indy doing fund raising for local Republicans.

For a guy who’s 78 yrs old, he’s pretty spunky.

Brewer is actually in her second term. She stepped into the governor’s seat via AZ’s constitutional rules of succession about two years ago when Jandyke Incompetano became ocommie’s Homeland Insecurity Director. Brewer slew pub primary challengers and was elected in her own right last November in a landslide.

hat won’t stop the rats and idiots pubs from giving her a sympathy vote. It’ll be all the more reason to not have to take the time to look at the issues and her record: “Oh, yeah, Gabby Giffords. I remember. The woman who was, like, shot in Tucson. Yeah. She used to be a, you know, a Republican and stuff and, like, became a Democrat, so she must, you know, be a centrist. Yeah. She like, you know, really deserves another shot at it. Oops. Hehe. My bad. Yeah, I’m like, voting for Giffords. It’ll be really cool for her to like, go to the UN as our senator. And it’s like really cool that her husband is like, an astronaut or whatever!”

Well said, agree 100%. I hope Giffords fully recovers....and then decides to go into a completely different line of work.

She was a lousy congresswoman.

Best wishes to Ms. Giffords for a full recovery.

If she allows the Dims to put her on the Senate ticket, I hope she is stomped. She’s a leftist. And if she runs for her House seat again, I hope Jesse Kelly takes her on again and stomps her.

Only liberals and nitwits (I know, it’s redundant) allow sympathy and emotion to overrule logic and reason.

I disagree with point 3. Two reasons: Ronald Reagan 1982 and Tom Barrett 2010.

There has been a bullet bump, but is isn’t as big as people think.
