As state governments look for ways to cut spending and curb growing pension costs, unions fighting to turn the tide of public opinion and stop attempts to pare down wages, benefits and collective bargaining rights for public workers, the Wall Street Journal reports.
Leaders of the American Federation of Government employees are asking members to increase their contributions to the organization's PAC fund. Meanwhile, the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, or AFSCME, is devoting its political heft towards fighting plans to cut public worker compensation in states like New York and Ohio

This is going to get really ugly with government employees, who will no doubt become violent, as they stand on the tax payers backs, demanding they continue to pay for their lottery style government retirement pensions...
Once they got their man (a Dem naturally ex mayor of Baltimore) in the governor's seat he rammed though the largest tax increase in MD history on us with Democrat only votes to keep the unions in $$$$. This November he was easily reelected as with the state House and Senate with Democrats. His theme was "Keep Maryland moving forward". Now with that reward for tax increases in hand he is planning another go round of tax increases as the public sector unions are hungry again.
No hope here.

I expect that it will. Hope the governors have the guts to stand their ground. Call out the National Guard if need be and fire any who strike.

Screw them. When you think about the poor schumucks that work in the private sector, busting their humps so they don’t get canned or better yet, get canned anyway compared to these overpaid braindead people it is enough to make you wanna puke.
Oh yeah the ol mantra that they could make much more in the private sector is BS. Most of them are educated in easy stuff if they are educated at all and get cushy retirements at age 50 whereas their counterparts working to survive in the priavate sector have to work to age 66 to retire.
These parasites make more than their counterparts in the private sector with much better benefits and healthcare for life. No sympathy here from this tax payer and taxpaying spouse who have to work to age 66.
Never was. Unionism is all about greed, wrapped in a facade of "worker's rights" and "pay equity". It's nothing but an organized gang of thugs trying to get maximum reward for minimum effort.
