TUESDAY MIDDAY--- BREAKING NEWS ON OBAMACARE REPEAL:

The House Rules Committee has rejected Rep. Steve King's proposal to FULLY DEFUND ObamaCare, failing to agree to "protect" King's amendment when it comes to the House floor.

Bottom line -- Republicans on the Rules Committee refused to play hardball to fully defund ObamaCare. By doing so, they are allowing Pelosi's "mandatory" self-funding provisions -- which many say are unconscionable if not unconstitutional -- to stand! This will force this Congress to approve most of the funding for ObamaCare.

FoxNews says King's provision would "cripple all government operations devoted to executing the health law."

DEBATE BEGINS THIS AFTERNOON.

Rush Limbaugh or Mark Levin could get the job done quite well. But Rush can't run for President, he's got too much baggage in his past. And Levin won't run either. Our best conservative American statesmen aren't politicians, they're radio hosts.

Look what we've got to lead us: the weeping Boner, who needs to pushed by the public into doing what is right. Then we have the fleet footed Mormon, Mitt Romney, who can dance around the floor and avoid "Romney Care" and Massachusetts' gay 'marriage' issues faster than Ginger Rogers could dance around Fred Astaire. Next up is the Newt, who got Newtered 15 years ago and hasn't grown back a pair yet. Then there's the Great Huckster, Huckleberry Hound with the flapping jowels and Bible quotes at the ready to draw you into his "I'm a man of God" corner. And we've got Sarah Palin, whose heart and head are in the right place, but her time hasn't come yet. (Maybe if she became a Congressman and became Speaker of The House, she'd be able to use her great gifts to our greatest benefit).

That leaves us with maybe Chris Christie, Bobby Jindal, Paul Ryan, Scott-the-RINO-Brown, and that effervescent, man of humor and humility, Donald Trump. May God please raise up a great Christian conservative leader for America, one who loves God, loves the Constitution, loves America and the people who voted for him, and holds dear to his heart all those things that made America great in the first place. Patriotism, courage, hard work, risk taking, entrepreneurship, character, faith, the willingness to sacrifice self for others, American exceptionalism, (the firm belief we have something going for us in America that no other nation on earth has been blessed with), and unassailable integrity. WHO IS HE? WHERE IS HE?

It goes to the same place your link at the head of the thread goes.

The URL on both is grassfire.com. I have no idea why Redstate is involved in the discussion.

With all due respect, class of 98 has its share of: trolls, rinos, limp wrists etc.

Frankly, pretty much every year post 2000 has more than it's share of trolls, rino's, limp wrists, etc.. I'm getting too old and too cranky to put up with the youngin's bullshit around here ....

So, when you talk about lock & load, I guess that means anyone belonging to any other year on FR should stand down?

No, it means anyone lacking the BALLS to do the hard work that needs to be done to fix this country - including "going Egyptian" or "lock and load" on the D's and R's that are hell bent on ruining this country by spending us into oblivion should get the hell out of the way and off FR.

Conservatives should have raised hell when they ramed this crap down our throats,but, for any number of reasons, we did not. Thus, as with any other cancer, the longer the wait before it is excised, the more difficult and costly it is to excise.

I believe that we indicated that we would raise hell if they passed obamacare. They called our bluff nd we did not respond. Now, we have lost our creditibility.

I have a different reading on the Nov. elections. It looks to me like we did raise hell and made it very clear that obamacare has to go. As I told the guy that I talked to at the rules committee, "you have 2 years, if it's not gone we will never support you again."

Who or what is going to stop them? It damn sure is not the Constitution.

The Constitution is just a piece of paper, an idealist form of government written down on some parchment.

What gives the Constitution value, meaning, and power?

The first three words tell one who in the Nation holds the power. And until We the People realize that again we deserve the tyranny we get.

Many of us love to call to our hearts the Constitution, but until our mind resolves who holds the power and responsibility for our liberty it is all huff, puff, and empty passion.

I like to remind people that while the Constitution provides the shape, form, and limits of our government it is the Declaration of Independence that provides us with our very first Right. It is the trump card and while many view it as a beautifully crafted document, they miss those words that are indeed the breath of life for our Constitution:

That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.

When the Guards have failed it is ultimately We the People's responsibility. We have suffered the sufferable evils, but now we see the long train of abuses & usurpations pursuing the destruction of our designed government. Notice the bolded words. It is the Right of the People, those words are not written as right of the people. Right & People are capitalized.

It is our Right and it is our Duty to stop the destruction. This is not given to the politicians...it is given to us, We the People.

The destruction of our country will continue at the hands of evil until such time as we will decide to take back the power that is the Right of We the People. If one is looking around for someone else to take this responsibility, to lead, to find the way then one is only seeking their next despot.

No FRiend the security of our Liberty rests with the Will of We the People and the talents we each have available to securing those first Rights.

No way on Earth will this mess be straightened out by voting.
Even if we had an entire congress of Jim Demints the scope of the disaster is too great. We are trying to stop a falling tree that is already half way to the ground.

The Constitution grants the House the power to set its own rules. Every piece of legislation must have a "rule" to go on the floor for discussion and vote.

And how is it the Constitution prohibits this process?

It’s upsetting. Steve King was on Mark Levin’s show last nite (you can listen to it at marklevinshow.com ‘audio rewind’) and it sounded like he is in it for the long haul and will continue to submit amends etc.

There are good people that were elected. The problem imo is that the old guard is not letting loose and we are outnumbered. The rules committee is bi partisan so you know they affected the decision as well.

These are only my observations btw...but I would recommend listening to Levins show 2nd hour I believe is when King was on.

First of all, this is my opinion, and we are all entitled to same.

Boehner displays the characteristics of a man who may be an alcoholic and/or who is depressed. Based on my experience with alcoholics and their symptoms, Boehner is displaying these symptoms.

I am not a liberal, a gossip or hyper-partisan. At this time in this nation, we need a political representative who be consistent, who we can depend on to stand up, speak up and be willing to fight for the Constitution and We The People. I hold my breath each time Boehner speaks, because I do not know if he will be an embarrassment, or if he will have the courage and willingness to fight for those of us who left a message with him in November, when we voted.

This is not a personal attack, or some kind of dislike for Boehner, the man. This is about the war we are fighting with the socialists/marxists/communists/revolutionaries/muslim sympathizers in this country, and the fact that we must have the right politician in the job of defending the Constitution and We The People. Mr. Boehner may or may not be that man. Time will tell, and my prayers and support are with him.

This is my opinion, and we are all entitled to same. I'm a conservative with concerns about Mr. Boehner’s performance as Speaker. We need a person who is consistent, has courage and is willing to stand up and speak out for We The People and the Constitution. I hold my breath each time Mr. Boehner speaks, concerned that he will not have the courage and willingness to fight for us, and concerned that he will not be able to take hold of his emotions, which is a outward sign of weakness to our enemies, and is embarrassing. We're in the fight of our lives against the enemy in the White House...we need the right man/woman for the job. Mr. Boehner may or may not be the person, but my prayers and support are with him.

ALL of the committees are bi-partisan, but the Republicans control all the committees.

Like I pointed out last night we are in a similar trick bag with the Hyde Amendment when it comes to this sort of legislation.

We simply have to include it every year in some appropriations bill.
