>> mothers shouldn’t run for president <<

I agree with you to the extent that they shouldn’t run if they have minor children. Raising children should always be a mother’s primary obligation. But if the “children” are now grown ups, IMHO it’s OK for a mother to run for POTUS, to be a foreign correspondent in harms way, etc.

"Now, she should have known that she was in the midst of animals but....."

Your "but" indicates her own personal responsibility whether you intended or not.

I think most FReepers do have sympathy for her, but as your "but" indicates, there is also personal responsibility for one's self.

When were fathers not allowed in harm’s way?

“Stuff” happens - and I say this not to diminish what she went through. Quite the contrary. Women who take these risks generally aren’t stupid. And there are so many women who take risks and survive unscathed. Reporters, missionaries, contractors, Peace Corps volunteers, soldiers, etc. We only hear about the random, terrible consequences of women in dangerous situations because it makes for good ratings and stimulates discussions.

It’s no different than if a man takes risks and suffers the consequences, whatever those consequences may be. Do kids suffer less because their dad was harmed?

>>>10 seconds of research would have informed you that she is currently married. Perhaps you should scrap your current translator, as it is obviously flawed.>>>

Unfortunately, my “translator” doesn’t compensate for sloppy, inaccurate reporting. BTW, the report says “kids”, whereas Wikipedia only mentions 1 child by her current husband. Regardless, my objections still stand.

That’s fine. Just clarifying. So maybe Todd Palin can run instead of Sarah.

This is a tragic, evil, and very predictable event.

Liberals simply refuse to listen to what real Muslims in the Mid-East (not the ones trotted out for CNN) tell us over and over again. They are very clear on what they believe.

If your clothing in public reveals skin - you are a whore
If you travel with un-related men - you are a whore
If you are an infidel from the corrupt West - you are a whore.

Leftist ideology is their religion, so they have ears, but they simply refuse to listen. I feel sorry for Ms. Logan, but she and CBS seem to want to remain deaf.

True. She didn't recall it. Doctors at the Nasiriyah hospital say there were no signs of it, but then they said they weren't exactly looking for it, either. Other records, cited in the book, say she was. I guess we won't know for sure in either case, unless Logan or Lynch provided evidence one way or the other.

Considering the death threats against Sarah AND her kids, i think that is a VERY valid consideration that she needs to take into account in deciding to run. And i feel sure she will. As a mother, i think it’s a mother’s duty to have their children’s interests paramount in whatever they choose to do. I realize not everyone thinks that way, but i do. i am a professional woman with a career and i have always put my kids interests ahead of that career and suffered professionally because of it and have NO regrets.

She got the story of a lifetime and CBS wants to bury it.

From their own website: "There will be no further comment from CBS News and correspondent Logan and her family respectfully request privacy at this time"

Don't you just love how they give themselves privacy when their targets for destruction are not allowed the same?

FUCBS!

When were fathers not allowed in harm’s way?

Nice try. I said the US avoided sending them in harms way. Look up 1940's peacetime draft law.

It’s no different than if a man takes risks and suffers the consequences, whatever those consequences may be.

I disagree entirely.

Do kids suffer less because their dad was harmed?

If mom and dad hear a prowler downstairs one night, do you think it matters who goes down to investigate?

It is no one’s fault other than the attackers. I hope she is doing well and heals quickly.

That sort of response is thoughtful, humane, and will not be tolerated on this forum.

Learn from your fellow posters:
She is hot, she had it coming.
She has a career with certain risks, she deserved it.
She’s a single mom, must be a tramp-we should shun her.
She shouldn’t be blonde.
It’s CBS’s fault, it’s feminists fault, it’s BO’s fault, it’s lib’s fault,
...ad freaking nauseum.

Whatever sport, give me a call when Sarah abandons her kids for weeks and months to wade into the middle of an islamic mob wearing pearls. The president is a safe reasonable job for a mom. Unless of course,,, you simply oppose women having jobs.
