Jeffrey Toobin obfuscated (lied) with regard to presidents Wilson and Hoover. Their foreign-born mothers were naturalized U.S. citizens when their respective sons were born.

Where’s that long form BC that Gov. Abercrombie promised he would make public, Cooper? Yeah, thought so.

They used Mark Foley in '06, immigration in '07 to divide conservatives.

Now its "birther-ism".

Anderson doesn't think a birth certificate proving eligibility is necessary?

To Cooper re the BC: it’s not the ‘crime’ - it’s the cover-up that raises suspicion...

(aren’t you even the least bit curious as the reason for the cover-up?)

Not in Obama's case. Be reasonable.

Terrribly curious why there should EVER be two different forms of a birth certificate in the USA? This short form version is an informational vacume, with less info than a drivers license, yet is deemed proper for US customs/identification/passports.

I didn’t even know that a short form version existed until Obama came along.

I’d love to go on this show and tell Anderson and Toobin how they have the facts completely wrong. Unfortunately the Montana congressman isn’t very well-versed in the details of why it’s important to have bills that allow states to verify the validity of any birth documents and verify whether candidates meet constitutional requirements.

One thing is likely — he will have to provide his actual birth certificate, with name of hospital, physician, and his full name, if he is really going to go all the way through the campaign for the Democratic nomination.

There has to be a reason he is not producing it.

I think it has to do with the name on the certificate not being Obama.

This isn’t going away, unless Obama decides, like LBJ, to not seek re-election, very possibly because he sees another Democrat will clearly get the nomination. Then, he’ll go away without ever having to produce the original birth certificate.

That’s my prediction...

Basically, the long form contained all of the information including the doctor's signature and really is a source document for the archive. The short form is just a certification from the state that this person was indeed born on a particular date in the state under a particular name which is basically all that is needed to prove existence to get a driver's license, school admission, etc. Otherwise clerks would have to find the original document, make copies, and seal them.

Toobin’s lie was claiming that the parents also have to have been born in America. They don’t. They just have to be citizens. He also claimed that Vattel was just a philosopher. These guys at are now refining their lies. For the longest time, they would not even mention the term ‘Natural Born’.

Thanks.

But, doesn’t the archive source document that you also mentioned have to exist as the baseline for making the short form ligitimate? In other words, the short form is only as good as the actual and not presumed existence of the long form, which, in this case, they can’t/won’t/don’t produce?

Yes. absolutely. Which is why Obama is hiding his as it contains embarassing info or was from a recorded birth out of the state.

We won’t go away because your idiot in chief hasn’t shown anyone proof that he IS an American. It could be handled quite easily, produce the long form Birth Certificate and it would end this. But you won’t/can’t. I suspect it is because his birth was in Kenya.

COOPER: Well, you heard Representative Wagner allude to the 14th Amendment and the standard it sets for who is considered a naturalized born American citizen. Until recently, that wasn't in question, nor was a candidate's citizenship.
What an idiot!

As is clearly seen Cooper alluded to the 14th, not Wagner...
COOPER: Well, that's not what is in the 14th Amendment.

It's also clear that Cooper believes that the 14th was meant to apply in perpetuity to everyone and not the freed slaves the Amendment was intended for.

Do you know if the State of Hawaii confirms that the long form BC does in fact exist in the archive? Regardless, for purposes of federal election law of eligibility for the presidency, it seems to me that ONLY the long form should exist. Yes, it’s invasive, but for the presidency hardly to must to ask.

On sensitive or classified information, even Congress meets with leadership committees behind closed doors. Why can’t the same apply here for the federal election board or some other qualified panel?

It means nothing.

Now, in a moment, senior legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin is going to talk about the constitutional facts the supporters of birther legislation appear to be getting wrong, in his opinion.

Anderson Cooper accepts Jeffrey Toobin's opinions as facts.

Cooper should call his buddy Chrissy Mathews over at MSNBC and ask to see the copy of the long form that Chrissy asked his buddy Obama to release.

What? Obama still didn’t release it? hmmmmmm

...to the 14th Amendment and the standard it sets for who is considered a naturalized born American citizen.
Notice the wording...naturalized born, not natural born.
Nobody else is even noticing it...yet.

I was a little off the other day.

"I hope Jeff does a piece on Anderson Cooper's show as well. Including the slips of the tongue like with "naturalization" when speaking about the 14th Amendment.
And why didn't he get a Constitutional scholar instead of a paid analyst for additional comment?"

I think the LBJ scenario is the most likely. And Obama will need to claim it has nothing to do with the eligibility issue which means he will have to make the announcement sometime this year before there is any ballot qualification unpleasantness.

Hawaii's Republican governor when the controversy erupted, Linda Lingle, said -- quote -- "It's been established he was born here." She says she had her health director actually go and view the original electronic copy of the birth certificate in their records

The original electronic copy? What is that?
