Can't blame him. The second he gets rough with her, he'll either be in lawsuit hell, or be charged with criminal behavior.

This is the least worst option for this young man.

This is insane. Not what the strong willed young man did, but having boys wrestle girls. Can you say grope-fest? And that’s just normal moves. Have there been any sexual harrassment lawsuits (”He touched me inappropriately”)? If not, there will be.

WTH is the matter with people?

Seems like a non-story to me - nobody seems to be upset or offended, or asking for the rules to be changed. The young man is standing by his convictions, and living with the consequences, seemingly without complaint. I salute him for that.

"I have a tremendous amount of respect for Cassy. However, wrestling is a combat sport and it can get violent at times," he said.

I went to a high school wrestling meet that had male and female competing with one another. To me it was shocking because, in any other environment, the males would be arrested for assault. No body part is exempt. It is a very bad idea.

Furthermore, on the subject of male/female competition, one boy not to be outdone by a larger female competitor, broke his femur bone, attempting to throw her off his back.

It makes one wonder to what extent women win because they are given a little more leeway. Male/female wrestling competition is inappropriate.

Why should sports of any kind be segregated? Make women compete at all levels in every sport for athletic scholarships. This would end the favortism and forced regulations on “higher education” to fund women’s sports.

A highschool wrestler in California was charged with sexual assault for a “butt grip” move that was deemed too “penetrating.” And they were both guys. I agree. This is a lawsuit just waiting to happen. The school’s athletic director needs to have his head examined. So does that father of that girl.

In Iowa, wrestling IS a religion. So I can see how he could be conflicted.

Dan Gable is not smiling.

He should of went ahead with the match and crotch grabbed her and rolled her as soon as he had her mounted.

On the drive to work this morning I heard the news reporter giving an update on this story with an audio quote from the boy’s father. At the end of the report, she concluded with “Chilvary is not dead. At least not with this young man”. That summed it up nicely.

Oh sure, it's all fun and games until the boy tries to pin her and touches her boobs.

She and her parents will be screamming assualt and take the kid to court. He'll then have to be added to the sexual offenders list for life.

Seriously, what moron decided girls wrestling boys is a good idea (FNC showing this now)

Back when I trained Judo it was pretty common to grapple with girls in practice, it really is not a big deal and benefits girls a lot since they get a chance to practice against more realistic opponents (for a self defense scenarios). But I do not remember them having mixed competitions at all. Kind of hard to imagine how a girl could get far in such competition, with similar weight male just has way too much explosive power and speed for a girl to overcome if the skills level is at all similar. BTW I seriously doubt any of those kids hold it back too. Quite impressive for a girl to get this far.

This is more than just a sports 'womens' rights' issue. Certain academics along with similar sickos in the stands get off on viewing outside-of-the-norm contact stuff like this.

Take it from me....I played womens' professional baseball. I could write a book.

These children are being exploited in several ways.

Any chance boys will be allowed to play girls volleyball here in Iowa? Boys volleyball is not offered.
