February 18, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) - In a historic vote Friday afternoon, the US House voted to strike all federal funding for the Planned Parenthood Federation of America. Every year the abortion giant receives hundreds of millions of dollars in taxpayer funding.

The congressional body voted 240-185 in favor of the amendment, introduced by Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN), to the 2011 Federal Spending Bill.

Immediately after the vote Rep. Pence released a statement saying: “This afternoon’s vote is a victory for taxpayers and a victory for life. By banning federal funding to Planned Parenthood, Congress has taken a stand for millions of Americans who believe their tax dollars should not be used to subsidize the largest abortion provider in America.

Don’t know how this will turn out. Hope it ends with the Republicans remembering the balls that prompted them to vote for this in the first place. Regardless of whether Obama ‘signs’ a bill, the Senate cannot legally introduce fiscal considerations into a bill; that is the duty of the House. If the funding isn’t there, then it is left to Commander Zero to sign or not. If he signs and then tries to fund PP, he may have to take it out of Executive funds. The House should stay vigilent and anticipate this asshole’s potential responses. If they don’t, then screw them; this was just for show.

"The good news is for the new fiscal year if the House doesn’t appropriate the funds then there are no funds. The House must approve. Nothing zero or the senate can do about it."

So, the Senate doesn't appropriate funds - it's only the House? Then, this bill does not need to go to the Senate? If that's true, that is FANTASTIC news!!! What a Godsend!

“Let’s just hope this is the beginning of a tsunami of good news, that continues on through the election of a Conservative President and Senate in 2012 and the careful rebuilding of our Republic during the subsequent years.”

I’m with you!!! I hope this, along with Wisconsin, Arizona, etc. — I hope it’s all a tsunami of real change, and a real president who understands the states are in charge, not the FED!

Defund Planned Parenthood

Defund NPR

Stop all foreign aid, to all countries.

Only monsters would want our money to fund this.

Our nation is broke and we are wasting our money on this garbage?

Just needs to go before the senate and voila!

Unless the Dems can afford to lose a majority of the 23 seats coming up next year.

All spending bills must ORIGINATE in the House. Senate and Presidential approval must be obtained before such bills go into law.

That’s actually a terrible bumper sticker.
My wife and I happen to love sex with one another for reasons other than making babies.

Goes to Senate, then a House-Senate Conference Committee to work out the differences then the House and Senate have to pass the exact same version to send it to Obama.
